Chapter 234 

The guard of the Shaw family tried to find cover for Evan, but the enemy’s firepower was too intense; moving was nearly impossible. 

He shielded Evan with his body, burying his head low, but he had been hit twice. 

After settling Christopher, Cecilia asked Aiden for a gun. 

She moved agilely between the vehicles, dodging bullets and returning fire. 

A minute later, she reached Evan. 

In the next moment, a bullet struck the ruptured fuel tank, causing a violent explosion. 

The back of the car was lifted high into the air before crashing down. 

Flames shot into the sky, and the heat wave surged in all directions. 

Even Aiden, a bit farther away with a slightly open car window, felt the heat. 

Elaine stared at the car intensely, watching the exploding car, her heart in her throat. 

She tightly grasped Aiden’s arm and asked tremulously, “Aiden, Ceci and the others will be okay, right?” 

Aiden couldn’t clearly see what was happening in the front, and his heart also tightened. 

Still, his voice remained very calm. “Grandma Elaine, they will be fine. They have faced numerous challenges during their time in the Peacekeeping Forces. They are experienced in handling such situations.” 

Though he said this, the current situation was different. 

Elaine couldn’t find solace in Aiden’s words; her worry deepened. 

“Christopher and Jay are seriously injured, and Ceci is alone…” 

She didn’t finish her sentence, but Aiden understood her meaning. 

He held her hand and said, “Grandma Elaine, Ceci and the others have been to the cemetery before; they are familiar with the surroundings. They will find a way to escape. We just need to wait.” 

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to intervene, but his status didn’t permit him to take such risks.

“Evan, take care of yourself. I’ll go help.” After saying that, Cecilia crawled forward along the shallow ditch. Then, taking advantage of the vehicles for cover, she stood up and continued to shoot at Wolf Killer. 

As Wolf Killer was gradually eliminated, the firepower noticeably weakened. 

Aiden gave the command, “Eliminate the enemy. Leave no one alive, regardless of life or death!” 

“Yes, Commander!” 

The bodyguards protecting Aiden, after making sure that the danger coefficient was reduced, immediately sent some troops and rushed to the sides to eliminate Wolf Killer of Sirius Clan. 

It wasn’t long before the battle ended. 

Except for two captured alive, all the members of Wolf Killer were dead. 

The thick smell of blood permeated the air, making people nauseous. 

After receiving the news that the danger had passed, Aiden told Elaine, “Grandma Elaine, stay in the car. I’ll go check.” 

Elaine was not someone who feared trouble; she opened the car door first without hesitation. “I want to make sure they are all right.” 

As soon as she finished, she got out of the car. 

Aiden could not refuse, and he immediately walked to Elaine’s side. 

His bodyguards surrounded the two of them, and they all moved toward the location of the car explosion. 

After returning the gun, Cecilia approached the edge of the ditch and helped the immobile Evan to the roadside. 

The effects of acupuncture had worn off, and the pain intensified. He hadn’t passed out, relying solely on his strong willpower to endure.

Passing by the Shaw family members, one of them suddenly threw a glass orb. 

The orb shattered upon landing, releasing a pungent smoke.

Even though they covered their mouths and noses immediately, they still inhaled some smoke. 

Elaine, who was closest, took two breaths. 

When the man who threw the glass orb took his life, Elaine also fainted. 

Aiden immediately reached out to catch her, while Cecilia quickly supported her first and carried her away from the acrid smoke. 

When they were far enough, Cecilia dared to breathe again. 

Then, she promptly checked Elaine. 

Aiden ran over anxiously, his voice trembling with tension. “Ceci, what happened to Grandma Elaine?” 

“She’s been poisoned. Get her to the hospital immediately.” 

The bodyguards quickly moved the damaged car away, leaving a few people to guard the scene. The rest escorted the Shaw family members to the military hospital.
