After Cecilia’s departure, Jeffrey started creating antidotes under the watchful eye of Aiden’s security details.

“Jeffrey” was seen lying at the corner of the stairs. He had blood on him and was in an unusual position. It seemed like he fell down the stairs and died.

“Why did Jeffrey die? Is the news reliable?” 

Charlie replied indifferently, “I just saw the news. I’m going to go to the hospital to verify it. If Jeffrey truly has died, what should we do with his project? Should we shut it down or get someone to take over?” 

Not only was Jeffrey involved in pharmaceutical development, but he was also participating in the illegal manufacturing of drugs. It was just that Charlie wasn’t allowed to handle this matter, so he had to pretend not to know.

Aiden was waiting outside the intensive care unit when Charlie 

approached. Aiden told Charlie, “Zachary, I don’t feel sorry for Professor Farsons. He deserved to die.” 

In a deep voice, Charlie cooperated with the acting and inquired, “Aiden, why did you say so?” 

“Jeffrey conspired with a hospital cleaner to poison a respected general who had made important military contributions. However, he was caught, and while trying to escape, he fell down the stairs and died.” 

“Aiden, is there some sort of misunderstanding? Why would Jeffrey do such a thing?” 

Aiden asked instead, “Zachary, do you know Jeffrey well? Or are you involved in this together?” 

Meeting his sharp and cold gaze, Charlie immediately explained, “Professor Farsons is the pharmacologist I hired. We usually have a good relationship, but I rarely inquire about his personal life. And regarding your claim that I am working together with him, I’m afraid I don’t understand what you mean.” 

“It doesn’t matter if you don’t understand. I have ordered a thorough investigation of your pharmaceutical company. Regardless of your innocence, the result will be revealed soon.” 

John, who was monitoring Charlie, immediately reported this update to the shareholders. 

The shareholders urgently asked the pharmaceutical company to destroy Jeffrey’s research completely. 

They were not worried about pharmaceutical companies being investigated, but they didn’t want Charlie to get in trouble. 

When Aiden’s subordinates took Charlie for questioning, Cecilia returned to the laboratory with the herbs Jeffrey needed and the food he wanted. 

Jeffrey was determined to live, so he focused on creating the antidote with great seriousness.

As soon as he took the first bite, he immediately realized that the food he got wasn’t from the restaurant he ordered from. 

This was expected.
