Jeffrey thought he had discovered Aiden’s weak point. The former said, “Let me go first if you want to save Cecilia.” 

However, Aiden delivered a forceful kick to Jeffrey’s stomach in response. 

Jeffrey grimaced in pain, his features contorted. He curled up into a ball, and his clothes were soaked in cold sweat. 

The laboratory was air–conditioned, and the cold air pierced through him, sending a shiver down his spine. 

His lips quivered as he said with difficulty, “I’ll make sure you regret treating me like this!” 

Aiden smirked. “It looks like you’ll be the one regretting.” 

After saying that, he beat Jeffrey up fiercely as if the latter were a punching bag. 

It was not until Jeffrey began to cough up blood that Aiden reluctantly stopped. 

He gripped Jeffrey’s jaw, raising his face, and asked coldly, “What have you done to Ceci?” 

Jeffrey wanted to spit the blood in his mouth onto Aiden’s face. However, he did not have the strength to do so. Alas, he ended up spitting on himself. 

For a moment, Jeffrey felt utterly embarrassed. 

However, he regained his composure in no time. He looked at Aiden with a faint smile before saying, “Right now, the lives of the two women you care about the most are in my hands. If I die, they’ll share the same fate 

as me!” 

Aiden’s breaths grew heavier as he tightened his grip on Jeffrey’s jaw. It was as if he might crush the latter’s jawbone in the next moment. 

Intense pain surged, and Jeffrey could not take it. Eventually, he passed 

out. 

Aiden threw Jeffrey on the ground. Then he looked at Cecilia, whose face had turned red. “Stop acting. You can get up now.” 

At first, when he saw that Cecilia had fainted, Aiden was genuinely alarmed.

Aiden observed Cecilia’s girlish demeanor and felt somewhat uncomfortable. 

He cleared his throat before withdrawing his arm. 

“Go ahead and tell me. But I’ll decide whether or not I’ll listen to you.” Cecilia nodded in response. She immediately got down to business. “Aiden, Jeffrey won’t just sit around and wait. He’ll definitely try to escape. We should use him to find the hidden threats in Acocester.” 

After saying that, she reached out her hand to Aiden. “Give me Jeffrey’s phone. I’ll install software on it. Then, we will know all his external communications and everyone he contacts will be redirected to us.” 

In other words, Jeffrey would appear to be communicating with the outside world, but everything is under their control.
