Walking out of the crowd, the Solar General bowed down to the Emperor and said, “This matter concerns all of our livelihoods, it would be unwise to send a weak scout and die in vain,”

“I have a recommendation, a person who is suited to the nature of this job,” continued the general.

“Who?” asked the Emperor.

“He is no other than Prince Consort, Daryl!” said the general.

The Emperor was clearly surprised by the general’s recommendation.

Daryl could not believe that he was suddenly pulled into something like this.

“Your Highness! We all know that the strongest person in the Godly Region would be your highness. However, there’s no need for your highness to take such a great risk and personally meet Antigonus in the mountains. Master Magaera would be the second strongest person, he is however currently indisposed and with the gates destroyed, there’s no way we could count on him. The only logical choice left is Daryl. Furthermore, Daryl is also the prince consort, seeing as Antigonus kidnapped the princess, it is only logical that Daryl has to be part of the rescue party and make sure that the princess is safely returned to your highness’ hands,” explained the general.

His suggestion was met with looks of approval from the guests and subjects alike.

Daryl could not believe how many excuses the general had to make up just to make sure that he himself does not have to go face Antigonus.

Daryl carefully studied the expression of the Emperor as he anxiously waits for his decision.

After a moment of deliberation, the Emperor finally nodded and said, “Solar general’s words make sense. The most suitable person for the job would be Daryl.”

With that, the Emperor turned towards Daryl and said, “Daryl, I bestow upon you the position of Fiend-Killing General and five million troops. You are to scout out the mountains and if Antigonus is trying to revive the fiends, you have to stop him. I don’t care what you do as long as he is stopped. Do you understand?”

Everybody immediately switched their focus on Daryl, waiting for his response.

Daryl could only reluctantly walk forwards and accept his job.

Under the gaze of everybody, Daryl could not decline the Emperor. After all, the result of declining would be death.

“Very good! Next, we have to pick an acting general for Daryl, who has any recommendations?” asked the Emperor.

The crowd immediately fell silent again. Everybody knew the risk of going to the Fiend Sealing Mountain with Daryl was a death sentence.

Daryl had to stifle a laugh when he saw the cowardice on these so- called gods. They are even worse than the people in the Sects down on the Nine Mainlands.
