Chapter 4060
Mona pulled too hard and Darryl felt a biting pain in his leg. He was sweating and forced a smile. "Miss Mona, please slow down."
"You're so troublesome," Mona mumbled and slowed down.
They had arrived at the river quickly.
Mona urged coldly, "Go get some water. You better be quick. Everyone is waiting for you."
As she spoke, she scorned him, but at the same time, she was relieved that she had finally brought the useless man to the river. 2
Then, Darryl chuckled and he looked terrible. "Miss Mona, I need you another favor."
"What is it?" Mona said coldly.
Darryl scratched his head and smiled cunningly. "I can't bend down in my current state and I can't reach the water. I need you to help me scoop some water."
'Help you scoop some water?' Mona scowled and deep down, she was conflicted. However, she kept quiet and looked around. " There's nothing here. What should I use to scoop water for you?"
Darryl pointed at her hands. "That's easy. Just use your hands and then feed me."
As he spoke, he wiped off the sweat on his forehead and urged, " Quick, Miss Mona. I'm almost dying of thirst."
Mona trembled and her eyes were filled with rage. 'This guy is getting more ridiculous. I had to help him to the river, and now I need to feed him with my hands? How dare you even think it?' At the same time, the demons stared at Darryl as they murmured among themselves.
"How dare he."
"How dare he ask Miss Mona to feed him water with her hands..."
"How dare he tease Miss Mona? He's dead..."
Everyone was deep in discussion and Mona slowly turned red in the face.
Immediately, she let go of Darryl and said, "Don't push my limits. I've already brought you to the water. Not being able to reach the water is your own problem, stop making more requests." 1
Then, she turned around to leave. Her sudden move caused Darryl to lose his balance and he almost fell. Fortunately, he was fast enough to grab a wooden stick and regain his balance.
Then, he looked exasperated and said to Mona, "I guess this is my fate. Fine. Just let me die of thirst. It's no big deal if I'm dead. It's just a pity I won't be able to help you all return to your territory."
Immediately, Mona stomped her feet and scurried back. "You..."
She then scooped some water from the river and brought it to Darryl. "Fine. Cut the crap and drink the water quickly."
At that point in time, Mona wanted to kill Darryl, she had no choice as she recalled that her sister said to protect him. More importantly, he was a resourceful man. He made her people hold tree branches in their hands in order to avoid the fiend race warriors. What would happen to them if he really were to die of thirst?
Noticing Mona was coming to a compromise with him, Darryl's mood brightened and he grinned. He then leaned forward and took a few gulps of water. He felt refreshed and better than before.
"Thankyou so much, Miss Mona," he chuckled.
