"Please don't do that, Sir. I promise I'll do my very best to save your sister."
Keele was sobbing as he begged. He would have never thought such tragedy would strike him out of nowhere.
Daisy was also faint with fear, barely able to keep her balance. Not only did Hendrick and his men want to kill them, but he also wanted to set the entire Lunar Moon Hut on fire. That was far too much!
Hendrick was unresponsive to Keele's pleading. He stared at Wisteria intently, lost in his pain and sorrow.
"You there."
Just then, a ruffian walked up and drew his long sword. "You should be so lucky only to have to die for killing our young miss. To hell with you."
As the last word echoed through the air, the sword's blade flashed in the light and swung down onto Keele's neck.
Keele was scared out of his wits. He trembled as he sat there. He completely forgot to duck.
At the same time, Daisy was practically about to faint from the terror.
"Hold on!'
A faint voice could be heard as Keele's neck was about to be severed. It was immediately followed by Darryl's rapid approach to the bamboo bed.
Oh?
Hendrick's brows furrowed as he took Darryl in. "And who would you be?" Hendrick had seen Darryl on his way in but did not pay much attention to him as he thought he was just a patient.
Hendrick was certain that Darryl would have been too terrified to stay if he had been present when everything had transpired. He never anticipated that he would remain the entire time.
At the same time, the ruffians turned their attention to Darryl.
The head of the ruffians tightened his grip on his long sword, approaching quickly to shout at Darryl. "Do you know who our young master is? He's the son of the Steinfield family. You'd best be on your way out, or we'll kill you too."
Daisy panicked. What was Darryl up to? Those men were ruthless and evil. Was he not afraid of getting into trouble?
