Made things worse?
Daisy could not contain her anger.
Anyone in the right mind would have run away at the first sign of what was happening. Yet, Darryl stayed and stepped forward to help.
He was so noble, yet Keele had demonized him to such worthlessness.
To make matters worse, he had also insulted Darryl. That was too much.
Daisy stomped her feet furiously. She did not pay Keele any more attention.
Meanwhile, on Darryl's end.
"Interesting."
Hendrick's expression grew murderous as he smirked in response to Keele's cries.
The next second, Hendrick stared Darryl down. "What are you doing, sticking your head into a business that is not yours as a patient? Do you have a death wish?" He was already angered and only grew more furious when Darryl tried to meddle.
Then, one of the ruffians stepped out to grab Darryl by the collar and said coldly, "How dare you mess with our young master?"
"Apologize to him this very instant, and we might just let you out of this alive."
Idiot…
Darryl did not even glance at the ruffian, his expression calm as he said lightly to Hendrick, "There's only one way to find out if I can heal your sister or not. You'll just have to let me try."
Hendrick's brows furrowed.
The ruffian angrily shouted, "Are you looking to die, b*stard? Is our High Lady's life something you can try?"
"Your sister is very ill," Darryl did not pay the ruffian any mind, speaking to Hendrick in a serious tone. "There's no way she'll make it until Sir Moonshine returns. Why don't you let me try? If it works, we're all happy. What do you think?"
Darryl did not wish to care for ruthless bastards like Hendrick and his men. On top of that, Keele had always picked on him. It was pretty nice to see him get shoved around for once.
However, Daisy had a kind heart. She had taken care of Darryl ever since he had woken up, and Darryl could not bear to see Hendrick and his men bully her.
Whew…
