Their End, My Beginning novel Chapter 43

Ryder and Kat are childhood sweetheart but they had to separated because of her parents 20 years later they meet again but it was on the day her parents funeral was arranged. During their meeting she notices that Ryder is being cold towards. During 20 years later they had contact with eachother but 3 years back his parents got into an accident and she lost all his contact. She has her mother’s brother as her guardian and her support aside from her bestfriend Amanda. She later finds out her mother’s sister takes over her mother’s company which was hers in first place. When she arrives to her uncle’s home, he gives her a letter from her father which states that their death was no accident. To find out the truth she decides the first thing to be done is to be financially stable hence gets a job in Simiona architects. She also needs to get her father’s laptop from the police station which is a clue to her parents murderer. But for that she needs Ryder’s help as he is powerful. To her fortunate Ryder’s company becomes her client hence starts working in Ryder’s company. Their frequent meetings sparks their old flame and therefore gets into a relationship again. Ryder finds out Kat and his employee Jason creates rumour as a revenge and fires Jason but he is brought back on Kat’s words. Kat on the way to Ryder’s office meets his bitchy assistant who tells her story to Kat and makes her realise her judgement on Raven (Ryder’s assistant) was completely wrong. Then….. *Kat’s pov

“Okay that’s enough romance for today ladies.”

We both looked towards the door to see Ryder leaning on the door frame with arms crossed over his chest. Raven and I got up as Ryder walked towards us.

He held both sides of my waist and pulled me closer to him. Our closeness and the scent of his cologne mixed with his body wash both made my heart go crazy.

“Breathe.” He whispered in my ear making me gasp. I was too out of the world to notice him leaning towards me. I didn’t even notice that I had hold my breathe until he said so.

“I thought I told you to come to my office? What made you late?” He asked after trailing down from my ear to the crook of my neck with his nose, making me shiver.

“Guys!! There is a lonely dog out here. Please take it to a room.” We heard Raven say from behind me. I am sure now I am a strawberry.

Yeah, I changed it to fruit any problem? Gosh here I am thinking can he be able to make me more embarrassed. And now you, my subconscious, is worried about me referring to myself as a fruit?

First on the first floor in middle of his employees and now in front of his secretary after a not-so-great conversation.

“Sorry I spoke out of turn. I am so very sorry Mr. Scott.”

“Nah, its fine. I honestly don’t mind it. I got to see yet another embarrassed face of my Kat.” He waved Raven off and looked down at me.

“You really did change from a-shouting-at-everything CEO to a sweet-mischievous-boyfriend.” Raven muttered under her breath which may or may not have been audible to Ryder but was very clear to me. Ryder just kept his head on top of mine burying his nose in my hair.

He heard it! He smiled through my hair meaning he heard it. Why am I even surprised? This man has a very sensitive ear. I sometimes wonder if he is a vampire. I mean he is unbelievably hot and sexy, has a very sensitive hearing, sometimes he can read my mind too!!

“Because I indeed am a vampire.” He whispered in my ear again confirming my thoughts.

See told you.

I looked at him to see him holding his finger to his mouth, showing to keep the question in mind and that he will explain it later.

“Do you want to take a half day leave?” He asked looking at Raven.

“No need, I need to bury myself in my work which would be piled up on my desk now. Excuse me.” She walked past us to walk out the door. But before she could reach the door I called out to her.

“Don’t forget about the lunch?”

“What about lunch?” She asked turning towards us. By now I was out of Ry’s arms. I walked towards Raven to make her agree on what I was about to say next.

“You will be having lunch with us.” I said smiling very happily.

“Us?” She looked at me and Ry to confirm what I meant.

“No not him, me and you. A bossy CEO wont have lunch with his employees at the canteen.” I looking at Ryder and scoffing at him. I turned back to Raven. “What I meant is you, me, Jason and Martha.” I could see that she was trying to find excuses.

“Before you say no just remember that I am pretty good at dragging people to where I want them to be.” I said showing of my arms as if there is any muscles in them.

“Oh, trust me when I tell you that is true. I am a victim.” He says behind me to which I turn to glare at him. He just gives me back a goofy smile making me smile. I shake my head and turned towards Raven.

“Pretty please.” I said showing her my puppy eyes. If my fake power wont work then I am sure my puppy eyes would.

“Please don’t show me that awful face, I will come.” And that is when my belief on my puppy eyes came rolling down the hill. Never mind at least she agreed.

“Great see you there.” I said to which she waved me off and turn to leave but I didn’t miss that smile on her face.

“What do you mean by me being a bossy CEO not wanting to be in his company’s cafeteria?” Ryder asked while holding my hands pulling me to his office.

“Well did you ever had lunch with you employees?” I asked him back answering his question after he closed the door of his office.

“Fair point Miss. Marshal .” He said sitting on his chair pulling me down to sit on his lap. He went back to nuzzling my neck. I remembered a question and I have to ask him before I get lost in his touch.

“How did you know that I was referring you as a vampire?” I asked him pushing him to look me in my eyes, which by the way was the worst decision made.

“Have you ever spent a day forget it an hour without thinking about vampire diaries?” He asked me back using my previous tactic.

“Fair point Mr. Scott.” And he went back to what he was doing.

Again I remembered something to be asked pulling me down to hell from heaven. Why is my subconscious killing me?

You are in my head girl it is not possible for you to be in a relationship in real life for that you got to be a werewolf like some novels we read where the hero’s wolf talks to her wolf or subconscious.

“What is it that you want to ask me?” He groaned pulling away from me resting his head on his chair.

There he go again with his mind reading ability.

“Before you ask how let me save you from that. You were distracted when I touched you meaning you are talking to yourself. Now what is it that you want to ask me?” I gaped at him.

The more I looked at him I found him to be more attractive if that is even possible. I can ask him what has been bothering my head later but now more important thing to be solved is the tingling between my legs.

I leaned towards him and closed the distance between us with my lips on his. The moment our lips were in contact I felt butterflies in my stomach growing wild. The feeling of his lips on mine sent an electric shock to my core.
