Their End, My Beginning novel Chapter 8

All the way to Uncle Nat’s house, the thought of how my sweet aunt has turned into such a bitch kept on nagging me a lot. After parking the car in the garage, I got into the house sighing thinking of moving out soon so I no longer will be a bother to him, even though he keeps on saying that I should consider his house as my own. Well, you can’t blame me. After seeing the turn of events today, I just can’t seem to believe my family members.

When I got inside, I saw Uncle Nat in front of TV watching football. He and his craze for football have never changed. At least that remained unchanged. I went to him and sat on the sofa.

After a few minutes he asked me, “Cupcake, what’s wrong you have been awfully quiet. Usually you should have already bickered on how boring this match is. Not to mention you are home early, which I don’t mind. What happened? Did something happen at office?” and seeing him worry for me, my eyes started to tear up and I said everything that happened today starting from all the sympathetic smiles hiding something to how my sweet aunt have turned to a bitch or to be more exact how she showed her true colours.

“I shouldn’t have signed the document and gave her my shares if so, you would have a place in the company though its just 5% it should have been enough for you to have a place.” He says while putting his head in his hands.

“Uncle, I don’t blame in fact I am thankful that you were there for me when I needed someone to support and protect me and I will always be grateful for that. Even if you had given that share to me, I am sure Carol will find a way to get me out of the company.” I said hugging him and he hugged me back.

“Uncle, please don’t be angry for what I am going to say next.”

“Well, it depends on what you say.” He chuckles while patting my back, encouraging me to continue what I was saying.
