Evelyn's POV

I see Ethan closing the door behind and I feel my pulse quickening. Why does every time Ethan have to see us together? Bad luck, Evelyn.

He turns around and a smile happens to appear on his face when his eyes move beside me and the non-appearing smile turns into a frown immediately. His hands are shoved in his jeans pockets and his suit jacket is hanging from his elbow. His sleeves of the white shirt are rolled up and the muscle of his arms are bulging out, hair messy.

Sexy as hell!

Shut up! This is not the right time.

He takes slow steps towards me and I stand there like a statue. When he's standing face to face, he raises a questioning eyebrow to ask what's going on here. I look beside me to see Liam's confused face, his eyes moving from me to Ethan.

I clear my throat as I break the silence, "Ethan. Liam came here to...to give me some important files. You know the construction site we are gonna visit tomorrow, about that."

I explain to which he nods, slightly glaring at Liam. Poor guy! He doesn't even know what he did wrong.

Ethan glances at his watch and says, "Now that the work time is over, I guess you both are done. Or do you want to work a little more?" He asks me, mockingly.

I shake my head, "No. We were leaving actually." I lie as I see Liam staring at me, questioningly.

Yes, Liam. You have to drink the coffee alone now.

"Ok, let's leave then," Ethan says, I nod when Liam speaks up.

"But Evie, why are you leaving with Mr. Jones?"

I see Ethan clenching his teeth and he answers instead of me.

"Maybe because we are going to the same house." He fakes a smile.

Liam seems shocked as he turns to me, "The same house? Do you live together?"

"I...umm... yeah." I stutter.

"But why?"

"Because…"

"The reason you'll get to know soon Mr. Liam. Very soon." Ethan cuts me off and holds my hand.

Before turning around and walking out of the office with me, he tells Liam,

"We will see you tomorrow then."

With that said, we hurry out of the room leaving a very confused Liam with a hurt look on his face behind.
