Chapter 0135
After calming Yasmine down, I returned to Nicholas‘ office. As soon as I stepped through the door, he grabbed me by the waist and pinned me against the heavy door.
“Mrs. Hawk, you’re truly generous. So many people spend their whole lives chasing after wealth like this, and you just give it away to
others.”
I gently stroked the fingers gripping my waist to soothe him. As he gradually relaxed his grip, I turned in his arms to face him.
“Honey, how many good friends can one have in a lifetime?” I lightly wrapped my arms around his waist and pressed my cheek against his chest. “In my 26 years, I’ve only had two.”

He must have realized it too–that our relationship had become more about the push and pull of interests as compared to the past. I liked his money, and he liked my body.
He pulled me down onto the sofa, while he stood in front of me, forcing me to face his urgency and longing.
My face grew warm, and I instinctively turned away. With a hint of frustration, he leaned closer to me, refusing to let it go.
“You left such a huge mark on my neck last night. I thought about your little mouth all night and couldn’t even sleep. Today, you better show me exactly how you managed to do that.”
I looked up, and his eyes were bright, but my words dimmed them instantly, draining most of the energy from his body.
“You couldn’t sleep all night–not because you were soothing Claudia?
