Trouble in Paradise (Arianna and Nicholas) novel Chapter 210

Every drop of blood in me froze in place when I heard Nicholas' roar. My mind was blank for a few seconds. It seemed that I would never be able to clear my good name.

Nicholas made his way to me. His dark brown eyes shone with fury as he glared at me. He was no longer hiding the distaste he harbored for me, and his gaze was as scary as flying daggers.

Every step he took made it harder and harder for me to breathe.

I wondered what he was thinking. I couldn't tell if he thought that I was the mastermind behind it all or if he was furious because I accused his precious Claudia.

His dark brown eyes showed he was experiencing several emotions simultaneously, and none of them were in favor of me.

Nicholas pulled me up by the back of my collar. I couldn't control my body, and my legs moved clumsily. When I came around, I had already taken a few steps back and had hit the window pane inside the room.

My womb stung a little. Sweat drenched my forehead, and I was glad that my back was the one that was hurt. If that hadn't been the case, the consequences would have been dire.

My palm defensively moved to my womb. I was protecting the baby, but Nicholas never even shot me another look.

He sat beside the bad and grabbed Jasmine by her arm. His voice was sweet when he said, "I'll have a nurse come and reattach the needle."

He helped Jasmine pull up her blanket and was going to leave. However, Jasmine grabbed him and requested, "Nicholas, can you stay here with me for a bit? I'm scared."

Her gaze was turning blank. Her blinking eyes were filled with sorrow and hopelessness.

Nicholas sighed quietly. He made his way to the side of the bed and jutted his chin out. His dark brown eyes showed no emotion when he gave me his orders. He said, "Go get a nurse."

After he said all that, he tilted his head down and looked at her. The side of his face was pointed at me, and that only showed how distant he was toward me.

I scanned the room to make sure that the person he spoke to was me.

My palm, which was over my womb, instinctively curled up. I turned to Jasmine and happened to meet her gaze. She trembled and quickly shifted her gaze. When she spoke again, her voice was extremely coarse.
