Trouble in Paradise (Arianna and Nicholas) novel Chapter 214

I thought about it. I realized there was not really any deep hatred between Nicholas and me. The issue was that there were always other women between us. That was something I absolutely could not tolerate or accept.

I could not accept this version of Nicholas. No matter how much I loved him, I had to give up and let him go.

I tried to push past him to leave. Being caught off guard, Nicholas staggered backward. I wanted to let him stay here with his new companions, but Nicholas did not let me.

No longer patient, he said, "Ari, I'm already overwhelmed with my father's situation. Can't you endure this a little for my sake? Once my father is gone, no one will interfere in our affairs anymore.

"What does it matter if we don't have children? I don't need to have children. I know you feel wronged, but it was all fake."

I gave a bitter smile. "Nicholas, whatever happened between us can't be summed up by simply calling it 'feel wronged' anymore."

I said softly, "I want this to end quickly too."

With that, I opened the door. Outside, a few glamorous young women were peering in curiously.

One of them complained, "What? How is there already a woman inside?"

The girls rushed in excitedly before lining up by the door. I smiled wryly. They were not even workers here, yet they could set aside their pride so easily.

For a man like Nicholas, he would never lack female company if he wanted. Why should I be so stubborn?

As I tried to leave, the girl who had spoken earlier stopped me. She pulled me over to her side. "Don't go! Did Mr. Hawk reject you? Stay and watch how he dotes on me then! This is the price you pay for your disloyalty!"

Her words stunned me. In a moment of masochism, I even thought her suggestion was not bad. I even considered watching how Nicholas would treat other girls. Would he kiss them as he said he would? Would he caress their bodies too?

But I was not that foolish. Breaking free from the girl's grasp, I stepped outside and eavesdropped for the first time in my life.
