Trouble in Paradise (Arianna and Nicholas) novel Chapter 307

Nicholas's tall figure cast a shadow over the hallway, dimming the overhead lights and fueling the anger in my heart.

Of course. If Nicholas wasn't backing Jasmine up, how could she have the means to locate them and devise such a manipulative scheme?

It didn't matter who was the mastermind behind this. In some way, Nicholas and Jasmine were one and the same.

I looked at the man before me, a calm smile tugging at my lips. The constant running around had left my clothes so wrinkled that no amount of smoothing would help.

In contrast, he looked immaculate in his tailored black suit without a single crease in sight. He held his head high, not even bothering to glance at me.

If he wanted to pretend I didn't exist, I wasn't going to waste my time trying to get his attention.

I stopped looking at him and lowered my head as I walked past, although I felt a sharp pain throughout my entire body.

Eventually, Nicholas and I had reached this point of being at odds. Suddenly, he grabbed my arm. From the moment his hand touched me, my hair stood on end. It felt like an electric shock, and I shook off his hand.

He spoke abruptly. "Don't you have anything you want to say to me?"

For a brief moment, I considered saying something. However, I knew a few simple words wouldn't change the situation.

Without turning back, I replied, "No time for catching up. Sorry."

I had just lifted my foot to leave when his voice drifted down from above. "Your time means nothing to me."

He pressed down on my shoulder and asked, "Now that time has stopped, do you want to go back to the past or keep risking everything?"
