Chapter 0387
I stopped walking, and Nicholas stopped with me. The streets in Gowland were bustling with people, yet the two of us stood amongst the crowd, gazing into each other’s eyes.
I couldn’t help but recall the first time I met the dazzling boy before me at a banquet. If I had known the dazzling boy would be one of the main causes of my life’s happiness and despair, would I still have kept looking at him back then?
I tried to look away. Be it love or hatred, but there seemed to be something about him that could not me look away. An inexplicable sense of anger crept up within me.
*Must you follow me around?”
I was angry. He must have known early on that I would attend Pete’s wedding, so why did he not mention anything about it to me?
Did he have to wait until Pete and I met, only to suddenly show up and keep me by his side? He must have been pleased with himself when he saw the shock on me and Pete’s face.
Pete pursed his lips. His expression was unreadable, but I could somewhat guess what was on his mind.
There was a short distance between us. If he wanted to speak to me, all he needed to do was raise his voice slightly.
But there were too many passersby on the road, and raising his voice had never been his thing. It wasn’t graceful. Even if he was in another country, he would not be able to do such a thing.
a took big strides, and I scoffed. Just as I was about to turn around, I saw Nicholas running toward me. He took big there was an anxious look on his face. That wasn’t very graceful of him.
Before I could react, the force of his momentum sent me stumbling back. He pulled me into his arms and took advantage of the momentum to carry me up and do a small spin.
Just as he kissed me, the big screen on the shopping mall behind him began to play some fireworks.
It was just a trick to win over a girl. I forced myself to calm down and pressed my hands against my wildly beating heart.
He kissed me for as long as the video of the fireworks lasted. The onlookers had noticed us and began cheering.
I felt overwhelmed and hid my face in his coat while I tried to catch my breath. However, he held my face in both hands and brought my head out of his coat.
Then, in fluent Gowlish, he said, “This is my wife. She’s a bit shy.”
1 came to my senses. This was his way of explaining to me, all while covering up the fact that he had
He said, “I don’t want you to leave.”
My body, which had been warmed up by him, immediately turned cold. I could only believe a fraction of the things he said to me now.
