Trouble in Paradise (Arianna and Nicholas) novel Chapter 619

I turned around and quietly looked at Nicholas.

While my mind was in turmoil, he had already wrapped his arms around me from behind. "Don't listen to him. How could anything be wrong with you?"

"Yes, yes," the doctor stammered, standing abruptly and apologizing. Beads of sweat glistened on his forehead, but he didn't dare wipe them.

"Nicholas," I said his name with mild disapproval, gently squeezing his hand. "It's possible."

Nicholas froze slightly as I held onto him, his imposing demeanor easing. He looked at me, a little perplexed. "What's possible?"

I didn't answer him directly. Instead, I stood up and turned to the doctor.

"I'm sorry for his outburst. When it comes to Tabitha, he gets a bit emotional. Please don't take it to heart."

The doctor repeatedly said he didn't mind. But his feet shuffled back until they hit the edge of his desk, forcing him to stop.

I turned around and saw Nicholas' dark eyes filled with a menacing gaze. Under his oppressive gaze, the doctor couldn't help but be nervous.

"I'll say it again, my wife and I will not have a second child for this reason. Understand?"

Nicholas shot one last warning glance at the doctor before turning his head away in haughty defiance.

I sighed. "Nicholas, but what if I wanted to?"

It wasn't the first time the thought had crossed my mind. Before, there simply wasn't anyone suitable, but things had changed now. Since reuniting with Nicholas, the idea had quietly lingered.

We had tried everything to help Tabitha, but nothing worked. Her condition even worsened after an argument between Nicholas and me.
