True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) novel Chapter 1016

Yvonne resisted a strong urge to roll her eyes and instead responded, "Okay, I get that you have a very strong charisma, but the opponent is very strong as well, so you might not even be able to start talking in the first place."

"Then I'll cry instead." Maria was not afraid at all, "That's my wild card."

"You're a good-for-nothing!" Yvonne looked at the child she gave birth to who was not like her. She wasn't like her dad either as he also wasn't talkative.

"I can only brainstorm for more ideas during such times," Maria noticed that Yvonne was frowning, so she said, "Mommy, you look really afraid."

It looked like their enemy was indeed a powerful man. That was why her mommy was so worried. This was the first time Maria ever saw her mommy with so much fear.

"Yeah, so you'd better keep that in mind," Yvonne said to her daughter. "Remember, do not leave the house or talk to anyone outside of this house. I'm being very serious, so if you still treat it as a joke and end up getting kidnapped, I won't care about

you anymore."

"Am I really your biological child?" Maria was very suspicious, "Must you really threaten me all the time? Are we still able to have some fun times together?"

"Of course, otherwise I would have abandoned you long ago," Yvonne leaned against the couch and stared at the ceiling. It was unclear what she was thinking about.

"Mommy, am I really not allowed to head to the kindergarten?" Maria asked.

"Nope."

"Why?"

"Don't ask me why," Yvonne responded. "Stop annoying me. Go and do something on your own. Mommy needs to rest for a while."

"She stole a precious tadpole?" Maria started talking to herself, "What kind of tadpole could be so valuable that we have to pay our lives for it?"

Yvonne's heart nearly skipped a beat when she heard that.

That tadpole had turned into such a chatterbox.

Maria continued to talk, "I don't have a daddy either. If I had one, he would probably have been able to defend us from our enemy. How pitiful it is for the both of us, Mommy. Where's Daddy?"

Yvonne felt a deep sense of helplessness with her daughter.

The moment she brought up her father, she would start feeling really anxious.

"Mommy, Mommy." Maria couldn't stay alone for more than a minute as she felt that she would instantly lose all her strength the moment no one was talking.

"Are you trying to summon my soul?" Yvonne yelled back.

"Mommy." Maria felt very wronged, "I'm trying to have a serious conversation with you. My daddy didn't go to heaven, right?"

Yvonne panicked and quickly answered, "He went to heaven already."

"Obviously not," Maria curled her lips. "I know that you're lying to me. Are you enemies with my dad? If not, how could you curse him and say that he already went to heaven?"

Yvonne was so close to being driven to madness by her own daughter.

"Maria Attwood, were you born to be a nuisance in my life?" Yvonne didn't know how to deal with her daughter anymore.

"Does that mean that you're finally admitting that you were lying to me previously?" Maria ran over to the couch and sat down next to Yvonne as she stared at her, "Mommy, can you please tell me who my daddy is?"

"Your father was just a random passer-by," Yvonne was left with no choice but to answer in a perfunctory manner.

"Hmph. You're lying. How could a passer- by attract you?" Maria curled her lips further, "You would never be attracted to simple men like that. That's why my daddy must be someone who is really strong and handsome, otherwise I wouldn't be such a beautiful girl either. Don't you think I'm right?"

Yvonne sat up straight and asked her daughter in return, "Who taught you to be so thick-skinned?"
