True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) novel Chapter 1069

"Is there really nothing wrong?" Heinz questioned once more. He seemed to be unable to believe in the good news, so he had to confirm it again, sounding a little anxious as he did.

"I'm sure there's nothing wrong." the doctor reaffirmed with a smile and continued, "Mr. Jones, I understand how you're feeling as well as your worries. Rest assured that everything is good."

"It's just... I'm still concerned about what the obstetrician from before had said." Heinz didn't want to hide his worries.

"That was a misjudgement from our end, Mr. Jones. You have to understand that the general principle of doctors is to expect the worst case scenario. It is our responsibility to inform you of those scenarios," the doctor explained, "I hope you can understand."

"Yes, of course." Heinz nodded and looked at Grace once again. Just like him, she looked elated by the news.

"In that case, We'll hang back and wait for the next report," Heinz told the doctor.

"All right," the doctor answered.

The doctor left soon after to give them some privacy.

Only the couple was left in the room. Heinz held Grace's hand excitedly and said, "Grace, did we get good out of misfortune?"

Grace nodded and replied, "I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I can finally calm down now."

"I'm sure everything will be fine." Heinz said confidently, "My sons are brave little soldiers after all. They're sure to survive all sorts of harms and risks."

Grace was stunned. She looked at Heinz in surprise and asked, "Didn't we agree that they were girls before?"

Heinz paused, with a teasing smile on his face, he replied, "Right, that goes the same for my daughters as well. They're going to be brave too."

"You're really conceited, aren't you?" Grace replied fondly and continued, "Right then. I'll get some sleep in the meantime. I'm exhausted. I haven't been sleeping well these few days."

"Alright, you rest up then. You can finally sleep in peace now." Heinz helped Grace lie down and covered her with the quilt.

It was a long time before he could finally calm down.

At the police station.

Just as Jensen came back from an investigation, he was greeted with the sight of Zayne and Quinn. He knew who Quinn was. He had investigated her for Grace before after all. Surprised to see her, he went to ask one of his subordinates about the situation.

"What's going on? What are they doing here?" Jensen asked.

"They're here to turn themselves in," his subordinate reported in a low voice.

"What did they do?" Jensen asked in shock. "Turn themselves in? Why does it sound so serious?"

"That woman just admitted that she gave fruits with some harmful pesticide residue to her pregnant stepchild as a gift, and the stepchild in question got hospitalised as a consequence. It is still unknown whether the unborn babies inside the woman's belly will be fine or not," his subordinate stated.

Jensen's heart dropped as he heard, "Is that so?"

He looked at the person in front of him in astonishment and then turned to look in Quinn's direction.

At this moment, Quinn remained expressionless but her eyes looked red and puffy. She looked haggard. What had happened?

Did she hurt Grace intentionally?

Why didn't he receive any calls about this? Did something really happen to Grace?

Jensen hurriedly called Heinz to clarify the situation.

"What's going on? What happened to Grace?" Jensen asked nervously once the call was picked up.

"How did you know?" Heinz replied, startled.

"I just saw Quinn in the police station. After I asked my subordinate, I gathered that something must have happened to you guys, am I right?" Jensen said.
