True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) novel Chapter 1146

Half an hour later had passed.

Somewhere around the Northward City.

Zachary's car was parked at the side of the road, where he had been lurking around for more than an hour. The ground was filled with cigarette butts too.

He didn't move an inch while he remained expressionless, making it seem as if many thoughts were crossing his mind.

Yvonne took a cab to get there. When she arrived, she could see Zachary leaning against his car from afar.

Under the streetlamp, his slender physique was reflected by the long shadow. Half of his face was covered by the shadow. It made him look even more grim.

She got out of the cab.

The cab turned around and left.

From a distance, Yvonne looked at Zachary with her heart full of emotions.

She had come for him in the end.

She couldn't miss out on this opportunity that had been given by Grace.

She told herself that she had returned to this country to reunite with her loved ones.

If she couldn't overcome the feeling of embarrassment, then she would never be able to get back together with Zachary.

Hence, she was here.

Even if her eyes were still red and swollen, even if she had cried for such a long time in her unit, and even if she shouldn't appear in front of him in her current state, she was still here.

From afar, she looked at the man under the streetlamp, as well as his elongated shadow, and felt a strong sense of desolation which overwhelmed her.

Seven years.

It had been too long.

She couldn't believe that they had missed out on seven years.

In this area, there weren't many cars, not to mention that it was close to midnight at that moment.

He leaned against the car on his own as if he was a sculpture.

Yvonne kept on looking at him and eventually realized that he hadn't been moving for a long time.

While being overwhelmed with desolation, her heart felt as if someone had stabbed it again.

Her heart ached.

It was due to how quiet and dead still it was.

There was a deathly stillness in his motionless appearance.

Had he always been like this for the past seven years?

If it weren't for the fact that she had seen him like this now, she probably wouldn't have thought much about it.

His dark-colored suit blended in with the night. However, what didn't match the view was the sudden downpour.

It was typical for summer, where the weather can change anytime.

The rain droplets instantly soaked the clothes.

Yvonne didn't have an umbrella. Since she had just returned, she didn't have many things prepared.

However, Zachary still did not move. Even with the rain pouring down, he remained in the same position, as if he could not feel the rain at all.

He simply remained in the same position quietly.

Soon enough, his dark-colored suit was drenched as the rain droplets fell from his face and onto his suit.

His eyebrows looked solemn while there were hints of loneliness and solitude in his eyes.

Yvonne took a few steps forward.

She was getting closer to him.

The rain droplets had blurred her vision.

However, she could still see his pale face clearly, as well as his gloomy eyes, which made her feel troubled.

She covered her mouth and stopped there and then. She ignored the fact that she was completely drenched.

She stared at him in a daze.

The rain was getting heavier and heavier.

A sudden gust of wind caused Yvonne to quiver.

The next second, she saw Zachary finally move. Instead of looking up, he opened the door and got into his car.

Yvonne opened her mouth, attempting to reach out her hand to stop him, but she hesitated.

She still couldn't help but to hesitate at the last moment.

He turned on his headlights and drove away.

She was left alone in a slanted corner.

Yvonne smiled, and then withdrew the hand that she had extended.

At the end of the day, she did not call out to him.
