True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) novel Chapter 1388

Gary let go of Celeste suddenly. He shot out of bed and stood up.

He looked down at her with a dark gaze, and his tone was filled with helplessness and frustration.

"Why are you crying? I have already apologized, and I promised that I wouldn't do anything to you if it makes you uncomfortable. What else do you want me to do?"

He had never put himself down to comfort someone before. All this while, he had been trying hard to suppress his emotions because of Celeste as he did not want to hurt her.

However, the more he tried to comfort her, the more her tears started flowing.

Gary felt as though he was the main culprit that made her so upset. It made him feel even more defeated.

As Gary questioned her, more tears poured down Celeste's cheeks. It was as if she had been treated unfairly.

Tears were gushing down her cheeks until it covered her entire face with tears. Looking at her weary expression, Gary felt more sadness creeping up within him.

As the frustration surged from within his heart, he could feel himself growing slightly angry.

He had tried to reach out to her and hold her in his arms, but all his goodwill was rejected.

His hand froze in mid-air. After a slight pause, he laughed self- deprecatingly and took back his offer.

Celeste still did not speak.

Gary heaved a long sigh, "Forget about it then. Since you're in so much pain, I shouldn't disturb your peace. I'm going back to London."

After saying that, he went to change his clothes.

He thought that his statement would garner some sort of reaction from Celeste, be it just a simple sentence stopping him from leaving.

If he did so, he would definitely stay.

Unfortunately, she didn't.

He couldn't help but laugh and felt that he had been expecting too much.

Gary really didn't know what to do now. Maybe she really needed some alone time to calm down.

He left.

He drove back to London overnight.

The butler was very surprised to see Gary return in the middle of the night. He then laughed, "Master Gary, I'm glad that you are home. Miss Simpson is already resting."

Gary merely grunted in reply before turning around to head upstairs.

He arrived upstairs. Before he could step foot into his room, he saw Janice standing barefoot at the door of a guest room right next to his. She looked sleepy, but she had a wicked smile plastered on her face.

"Hey? Why did you come back in the middle of the night? Judging by your horrible facial expression, did your girlfriend kick you out?"

Gary ignored her. He gave a cold look, opened the door of his room, and walked inside.

The door slammed shut with a loud bang.

Janice shrugged and went back to her room to get some sleep.

Back at the house in Oxford, Celeste was busy bawling her eyes out until she had no more tears left.

When the car left the garage, Celeste was still crying uncontrollably, her tears heavy like torrential rain. She felt so upset that she didn't feel like going anywhere or doing anything.

The house was now empty.

Her efforts were in vain.

She was a little annoyed that she could not get over small things easily.

She could not pretend that nothing was wrong.

From Celeste's point of view, the way he treated her half- heartedly felt like he did not love her enough.

As she thought about this, she felt an unbearable pain accumulating in her chest, making her feel extremely miserable.

That night was doomed to be a sleepless one. The next day, Celeste had an excruciating headache, with no strength to do anything at all.

She did not get up to eat anything.

When her phone rang, she struggled to reach for it. Looking at the phone number, she noticed that it was a call from the house in London.

She decided to pick it up.

"Miss Celeste," The butler's pleasant greetings could be heard from the other side of the phone.

"Mr. Butler," Celeste's voice sounded a little hoarse, but she tried her best to make it sound normal.

"Miss Celeste, let me tell you a secret," The butler was speaking with ample excitement, his tone full of life and joy.

"Hmm?" Celeste was a little confused. Why did the butler want to tell her a secret? "Okay, tell me." "Master Gary's girlfriend is at home," He exclaimed enthusiastically.

Celeste was stunned for a moment. Her entire body stiffened.

"Master Gary sent her here yesterday afternoon and asked me to take good care of her. The young lady is very beautiful. She has a good personality too, almost like Miss Maria. She's a bit playful and very lively. Master Gary came back in the middle of the night as well."

So Gary really went back to London.
