True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) novel Chapter 183

The woman in the hospital bed looked at him and smiled slightly. "Brother, thank you."

Heinz Jones also grinned at her and said, "Don't be so polite with me. By the way, the child looks a little like me."

"People often say that nephews usually look like their uncles," Leanne Jones looked at Heinz and said. "Brother, Old Qandler told me that you took a woman to the villa on the mountain."

"News spread so quickly?" Heinz raised his eyebrows. "What a bigmouth he is."

Leanne burst into laughter and accidentally aggravated her wound. She took a sharp intake of breath from the pain.

"Alright, let's not talk anymore. Your wound is not completely healed yet," Heinz said in a deep voice.

"Well, okay," Leanne calmed down and said. "The wound hurts too much. Anyway, brother, who is the woman you brought with you?"

"A secret," Heinz said in a deep voice.

"Are you going to hide it even from me?"

Heinz looked at her and smiled faintly. "Leanne, I've already informed Qandler Logan. His flight will arrive tomorrow morning."

"Okay."

Heinz came out of the Intensive Care Unit, took out

his phone, switched it on, and glanced at it. She... didn't call again.

It was already five o'clock in the morning when he left the hospital. It was almost dawn.

He took out his phone and called Grace Smith.

The phone rang only twice before it was rejected.

He was stunned and tried again. However, the call was still declined.

Heinz had no choice but to send a message. He asked, "Did you call me earlier? What's the matter?"

Seeing the message on her phone, Grace curled her lips slightly and her eyes were full of sarcasm. She didn't reply.

Was it still necessary now?

She didn't want to say anything.

However, at this moment, the phone rang again. She glanced at it and realised that it was Heinz again.

She had not slept all night and was very tired. Moreover, she had to ask for leave to go to her grandmother's grave later. She was really exhausted.

She didn't answer the call, and the phone was still ringing.

Finally, she picked it up, and her voice was hoarse. "Nothing."

As soon as Heinz heard her voice, he frowned and said in an unhappy tone, "Why did you call me at midnight if it were nothing?"

Grace held her mobile phone and said with a selfdeprecating smile, "Mr. Jones, I've disturbed you. I shouldn't have called."

"What the hell is going on with you?" Heinz was surprised at her nonchalant attitude. "What's wrong with you?"

"I'm fine. I called by mistake," Grace said perfunctorily.

Some words were better left unsaid. It would be humiliating to say anything else.

"Grace," Heinz said in a deep voice. "I don't believe that you're okay. If you are, you wouldn't have called me, let alone call so many times!"

"Since you know that I made several phone calls, why are you calling me back only now? Is it still necessary?" Grace felt angrier as she thought about it.

When Heinz could sense the bad attitude, it was as if he had also eaten gunpowder. He immediately scolded coldly, "Why are you being so rude?"

Grace was stunned by the stab and said, "I'm not being rude. I'm fine now, Mr. Jones. Rest assured I won't be looking for you again."

Upon hearing this, Heinz was even more irritated. He frowned and said, "You're getting increasingly rude."

"Is there any need for me to be polite?" Grace hung up the phone right after she said that.

When he saw that she ended the call, Heinz was so furious that he almost threw the phone onto the ground. He was not in a good mood as he had not slept for the whole night.

Grace silenced her phone and called Hermione Lowe to request for leave for the day.

"Editor Lowe, I need today off to visit my Grandma's grave."

"Are you not coming in at all?" Hermione asked.
