Claudia was really worried that Sylvia's voice would be too loud and Heinz and Grace would hear their conversation. That would not be great.

Sylvia quickly turned her head to look at her parents, heaving a sigh of relief when she realized that they were not paying attention to them.

Claudia and Sylvia quickened their paces to the second floor and soon arrived in front of Sebastian's room.

"Why do I feel like your parents are setting a trap by asking me to come up here?" Claudia voiced her doubts.

"Why do I feel like you are just overthinking? I don't think they have such thoughts," Sylvia said in a low voice, "Perhaps they think Sebastian will stop throwing a tantrum since you're a guest."

"That sounds kind of ridiculous. You're thinking too highly of me if you think that's what he'd do." Claudia laughed at herself.

However, Sylvia was suddenly feeling upset to hear Claudia laughing at herself like that. It seemed that Sebastian had hurt Claudia badly.

"Don't be so depressed." Sylvia comforted her in a low voice, "I still think Sebastian treats you differently than he did with other girls."

"Forget it." Claudia shook her head. "He doesn't even care about me. I gave up hoping long ago."

Only then did Sylvia realize that she had not asked much about Claudia's feelings after the shock she experienced while they were heading up the stairs. She quickly grabbed Claudia's sleeve with one hand and asked nervously, "Are you serious? Don't you want to continue?"

Looking at Sylvia's earnest and worried look, Claudia nodded and laughed at herself again. She said bitterly, "I can't force anything to happen. I shouldn't force myself onto others when they don't want me. I have to stop when I still can. Wouldn't it only make my life miserable if I kept approaching him? Even if I don't mind losing my dignity, I still can't go this far as a girl, right?"

Sylvia wanted to encourage Claudia and tell her to go for it.

However, she couldn't bring herself to say it.

She knew very well how depressed and hopeless it was to be pursuing a man who didn't feel the same.

Fortunately, Kendrix still had feelings for her.

"Claudia." Sylvia called her name pitifully. "It's kind of terrifying to see you this solemn."

Claudia burst into laughter. "What is there to be terrified of? You are a little devil yourself, and you even have the guts to go after Kendrix."

"I'm not afraid to like him, but I'm afraid to see you sad," Sylvia said.

Claudia was stunned and she smiled again, feeling warmth in her heart.

However, she still shook her head and said, "I am very calm, and I know what am I doing. I thought it thoroughly already. I am willing to put in more effort if he shows some feelings for me, but what's the point of me continuing when he doesn't have any feelings for me?"

"Are you sure about giving up?" Sylvia was not optimistic about Sebastian and Claudia getting together as she had thought they were not a good match in the beginning.

However, as of then, her heart broke when she saw Claudia's expression and heard what she said.

She had always felt that Claudia was the kind of girl who shone brilliantly and would not be so easily depressed.

Yet, it seemed like Claudia was just a normal girl then.

No matter how positive or bubbly one was, they would still be saddened by such cold treatment.

Sylvia could understand, but she just didn't know how to help Claudia in such situation.

"Should we still give him the food then?" Sylvia asked.

Claudia smiled and asked, "Why not?"

"I thought you didn't want to go and that we forced you," Sylvia whispered.

"It's indeed hard for me, but I want to give it to him. Although I am giving up, I still care about him." Claudia smiled helplessly and said, "Forget it. I'll knock on the door."

"I'll leave then," Sylvia said, "I'll be by the corridor, keeping a lookout for you. Do what you feel right, grasp onto any opportunity you get, and worse come to worse, just pounce on him."

Claudia said, "Forget it. I don't want to break the law knowingly."

"Break the law knowingly?" Sylvia was stunned. It was only then that she was reminded of Sebastian's age and how it was stopping Claudia to pounce on him.

It was just like how Kendrix couldn't do what he wanted with her.
