Feeling embarrassed, Jensen's face froze. He immediately said, "Well, I'm not that bad. We drew a tie."
"So you didn't win, huh?" Alice said in surprise. "I didn't expect you to lose to him."
Jensen was even more embarrassed, so his face turned red.
He didn't expect Alice would despise him that much.
To cover up his embarrassment, he touched his head and explained, "Actually, Heinz's injuries were much worse. We just had a fight."
"Humph!" Alice sneered and said, "You said that you're giving him a lesson but instead you got beaten up. And now you still have the audacity to show off in front of me."
Jensen was rendered speechless.
"Officer Charm, are you really a police officer? Seems that you're not as skillful as an ordinary man doing a white-collar job."
Jensen said, "Alice, he is not an ordinary man. He is a young and promising bachelor and a big shot in Northern City, who had been spending most of his time working out in the gym."
"Bullsh*t." Alice wasn't impressed. "He sits in the office all day long, how good would he be? Don't make excuses for yourself. It's a fact that you can't
beat him. You're just too weak." "I wasn't finding excuses. Think about it. If he was just any random guy, would your sister even fancy him?" Jensen retorted again.
"Fancy him?" Alice curled her lips. "My sister had no choice."
Jensen shook his head and said, "Even though Grace said sternly that it's impossible between them, I could see that she is still fond of him. You have to admit it."
"He has to be charismatic enough to be able draw her attention," he explained.
"No way," Alice immediately denied it. "Grace approached him because of Little Gary. If it wasn't because of Little Gary, she wouldn't even bother to talk to him. He is nothing but an arrogant b*stard."
She said again, "Seeing that he is Little Gary's father, Grace tried to get along with him but just ended up getting hurt deeply. He totally let her down."
"That's why I had to teach him a lesson," Jensen said.
"But you failed to do that. Don't you think it's ridiculous that you still came to me and bragged about it?"
Alice's words were so powerful that he was lost for words.
"Or are you just trying to gain sympathy from me by showing your bruised face, to make me feel guilty?" Alice asked directly.
Jensen immediately shook his head. "Of course not.
You're thinking too much. I'm not that kind of person."
"It's best if you're not. Otherwise, I'm so done with you," she said.
Jensen shook his head and said, "Please don't. We're all good now. "
Alice lowered her gaze and looked at the flowers. It smelt good.
This was the first time she had received flowers.
Seeing her expression turning softer, Jensen hurriedly said, "Let not talk about him. It'll just spoil the fun. Let's go back now."
"Yeah I'm going home." Alice gave her a quick look and said, "Go about your business."
"I'll send you home," he offered. He would not give up on such a good opportunity to bond with Alice. Besides, he had promised Little Gary that he would pass him the passwords.
"I can go back on my own," she said. "You don't have to drive me."
"But I have bought a lot of things, there are food and some toys." Jensen gestured to his car and said, "They're all in the car. Let's go."
