The sudden kiss without warning made Grace's heart beat wildly.
Her first instinct was to fight back. But according to her understanding of Heinz, she knew that it would be in vain as he would only be even more forceful if she had struggled.
So, Grace stood rooted to the ground. No matter how he kissed her, she made no response and didn't move a muscle.
Heinz, who had kissed her with a mix of fury and frustrated passion, could feel the nonresponsiveness from her. He felt a pang of sadness.
"Grace?" Tyler's voice resounded from outside. "Are you in the restroom?"
Grace remained stationary. When Heinz heard Tyler calling out for her, he became even more agitated. He was reluctant to let go of Grace.
He was in a state of panic, that once he had let go of Grace, she would slip away from his grasp, and he would lose her forever.
That feeling sent him on edge and he was unable to accept it.
He could only kiss her fiercely and wait eagerly for her response.
However, Grace stayed motionless.
He was in a fury that he bit her lip.
There was a faint metallic taste in his mouth. It was the taste of blood.
Grace felt a sting on her lip. But she remained still and her brows drew together.
Realizing that his plan was not working, Heinz finally let go of her.
Grace stared at him coldly.
Heinz was appalled and his body froze. Fear flashed through him as he felt the absence of warmth in her eyes.
In an instant, his anger dissipated.
Outside of the restroom, Tyler was still calling out for Grace. "Grace, are you in there?"
Grace did not make a sound. She looked at Heinz, her eyes were even colder.
Heinz frowned and opened his mouth, but no words came out.
At last, Grace raised her voice and said, "Tyler, I'm in the toilet. Wait a minute."
She reached over and placed her hand on the door handle.
Heinz swiftly grabbed her wrist almost subconsciously. He did not want to let her go.
"Tyler, just a moment," Grace said again in a deep voice.
Heinz tightened his grip on her as if he wanted to crush her wrist bones. He squinted at her with a deep look in his eyes.
Grace ignored his existence and did not turn to look
at him.
He was holding her left hand, so she opened the door with her right hand.
Heinz could feel a dull pain in his heart. He had never known this side of her, so headstrong and arrogant.
He couldn't believe that he had been given the cold shoulder from her.
He felt as if his heart was being stabbed with a knife.
"You have no respect for me at all. When it comes to relationships, you are just a fool," Grace lowered her voice and said.
Heinz was taken aback and he looked at her in disbelief.
"What did you say?" he said.
Grace fixed her cold gaze at him and replied, "You know exactly what I meant. You accused me of playing with your feelings and called it quit in the first place. And now you're here begging for more? Why are you so shameless?"
Right after saying that, she shook off his hand forcefully.
Heinz was stunned.
But he finally loosened his grip and let go of her hand.
At that moment, he felt a pang in his heart. It left a void that could not be filled.
He felt a deep sense of frustration. He was so used to having his cards right in the world of business, but when facing her, he couldn't help but to feel like a failure.
He was a loser.
Grace pushed the door open and left without looking back.
Still in a daze, Heinz was frozen to the ground. The sound coming from outside jolted him out of his trance.
"Did you fall into the toilet?" Tyler teased Grace as soon as he saw her coming out of the toilet.
"Let's get out of here," she nodded at him, giving away no emotion in her voice.
