Grace's blood turned cold. She couldn't believe the phone call she had just received was real.
Ernest Jones, Heinz Jones.
There were very few people in Northern City with the surname Jones, why didn't she think of that from the beginning?
Grace was a little shocked. She suddenly grew weak, and her soul seemed to have left her body.
She sat on the bed and couldn't regain her composure for the longest time.
He already had a son, no wonder he asked her that question back then.
How dare he humiliated her like that when he had a son himself? What right did he have to do so?
Was it because he was financially stronger so he could be so arrogant?
An unprecedented chill swept through Grace's whole body. Her blood ran cold, and she couldn't feel a trace of warmth.
Her whole heart was filled with uneasiness and bewilderment, as well as despair. The feeling of being broken to pieces overcame her again and the scattered fragments of memories appeared in her mind bit by bit.
This lovely child, Ernest was actually Heinz's son.
What a small world!
Why did she get involved with Heinz and his child?
The sky was overcast, and it was getting dark outside. Grace felt so depressed she couldn't breathe.
She clenched her fists at her sides until her knuckles turned white. It was as if her heart had been swallowed. She felt as though she was on top of a cliff. One wrong step and she would fall off the cliff and drown.
She tried her best to control her emotions but her heart was struggling.
It would spell the end of her fantasy.
This was how it turned out.
She and Heinz were indeed not suitable for each other.
He was lying to her. Even though she hid a secret from him, Little Gary was his son after all. Now, there was another one, Ernest.
Grace wondered in a self-deprecating way, whether this was a man who didn't like getting himself involved with women, or a man who fooled around with women everywhere he went.
If he had a girlfriend before, did that mean he had the child with that girlfriend?
Or was this child born out of wedlock with some random woman?
Ernest's looks somewhat resembled Heinz's. If he were to say that Ernest was not his son, she wouldn't believe it at all.
Thinking about it now, she felt that Ernest looked very similar to Heinz.
She was suspicious before, probably because she had thought that Heinz was not that type of person.
Now, she felt a lot of pain in her heart, so much pain that there wasn't even a glimmer of hope.
She bit her lip.
As the sound of footsteps approached, she immediately grasped the bed sheets subconsciously. She bunched it up tightly, then let it go, and did this repeatedly.
Heinz pushed the door open and walked in. When he saw Grace, he said softly with a smile in his eyes, "Are you hungry? Do you want to go down and eat something?"
Grace didn't say answer him. She lowered her eyes, then slowly lifted them up. Her eyes were dark as she stared at Heinz, without a trace of warmth.
Not only was it ice cold, but it was also deadly silent.
Heinz's heart skipped a beat and he felt that something was wrong.
He looked at Grace and asked hesitantly, "Grace, what's wrong?"
Grace looked at Heinz without expression as if he was a stranger to her. Her eyes were soulless as she stared at him with no emotion.
This made Heinz very uncomfortable.
He frowned and walked over. He knelt in front of Grace and looked up.
