True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) novel Chapter 784

When Alice returned to the apartment, she felt suffocated.

She felt that when she saw Candace, the grievances and suffering that she had stored in her heart over the years had surged out at once.

She felt that when she saw Candace, the grievances and suffering that she had stored in her heart over the years had surged out at once.

She didn't want to talk; she just wanted to cry.

However, what was the use of crying?

Grace had told her that crying was useless. It would only make her look more cowardly, and it would not be of any help.

Alice took a deep breath and went to the bathroom to wash her hands first. Then, she washed up without saying a word.

Jensen noticed she was in a bad mood, and understood that she had been hurt by Candace.

Although she didn't say anything, he knew that she was upset.

She took a shower in the bathroom. After that, she wrapped herself in a bathrobe and came out. Then, she went into the dressing room to look for a change of clothes without sparing Jensen a glance.

As he watched her walk over, he felt his heart break.

He said, "Alice, I'll take a shower first. Let's talk after that."

"Just go ahead and take your shower. Don't worry about me. I'm fine," came Alice's reply from the dressing room.

Jensen could hear that she was feeling very dejected.

He frowned, and went into the bathroom to wash himself quickly.

Fifteen minutes later, he came out in a bathrobe. Just as he was about to change, he smelled a whiff of alcohol.

He was stunned. He stretched out his head in shock to check out what was going on, only to find that Alice was drinking.

He paused when he saw her sitting cross-legged on the sofa, a bottle of red wine on the coffee table. She held a wineglass in her hand. She swirled it softly and finished it in one gulp.

Looking at the bottle, it seemed like she had taken quite a lot. She had finished half of the bottle in such a short time.

This was very fine imported wine, and it was quite strong.

Jensen felt a little worried. He walked over without changing out of his bathrobe. As he looked at Alice, he asked with concern, "You feel like drinking?"

"Yeah." She nodded and took another gulp. The effect hadn't taken place, so she was not dizzy yet. "I feel like drinking a little. Do you want some?"

He was taken aback, and a glimmer of light flashed in his gaze. He knew that if he did not drink it, Alice might have some other thoughts.

She was upset right now. She needed someone to talk to. Even if he didn't say a word, he could just stay with her.

Therefore, he nodded, "I'll have a little."

Alice nodded and handed him a glass. "Wouldn't it be better if you pour it for yourself?"

"Okay." He sat down beside her and poured a glass of wine for himself, and another for Alice.

The two of them finished the wine together silently. Jensen looked at her with pity in his eyes.

"Do you think I've gone too far?" Alice suddenly asked.
