Turning Of The Tide (Natalie and Trevon) novel Chapter 712

Sherri could not stop laughing while Hackett's face darkened a little.

They chatted and laughed as they ate.

The sleeves of Trevon's shirt were rolled up to his elbows. He was neither anxious nor impatient. He slowly picked up his fork and said in good spirits, "Come on, let's talk about it."

He was talking about engagement gift.

Frank was almost done eating. He had always been serious about his food and ate faster than others. He tilted back in his chair with one hand lazily hanging on the back of Ava's chair. His fingertips were playing with Ava's ponytail intentionally or unintentionally. He leaned sideways and raised his eyebrows at Hackett. "You can let your imagination run wild. What do you want? I think Trevon wouldn't mind."

When Frank saw Hackett looking at him, he teased, "There's nothing romantic between us. I don't love you, and you don't love me. You don't have to look at me."

He and Ava were here today to witness his nephew's marriage.

Hackett was speechless, thinking, 'What's wrong with him? Only Ava would be interested in such a mean person like him.'

The somewhat solemn atmosphere turned into a comedy scene with just a few words from Frank. The atmosphere became much lighter, and everyone present could not help but laugh.

Sherri maintained an attitude today. As long as today's discussion was successful, it was acceptable if Hackett did not jump off a building, no matter how many people teased him.

Natalie patted her son's shoulder and whispered, "Jasper, if your godfather drinks too much later and doesn't use the right words, just pretend he's complimenting you and forgive him."

"Okay, got it."

"Ruby, don't worry. Your father and godfather and other uncles will take care of it. Eat more. You must've been so busy recently. You look thinner." As he spoke, Natalie turned the wheel in front of Ruby with a smile on his lips.

Ruby thanked him. "Thank you, Mrs. Wilson."

Sherri felt her daughter's way of addressing Natalie was wrong and corrected her. "Ruby, just Natalie is fine."

Natalie rolled her eyes at her. "There's no rush, Okay? Can't you wait for a little longer?"

Sherri was delighted and laughed out loud. Everyone could tell from a glance that she was the happiest person on the table. Those who did not know she was there to discuss her daughter's marriage today would think it was her wedding day.

Hackett, who had long let go, went through the ritual. "Alright, if I don't name any gift, it's a waste since you're so wealthy. Then I'll do you a favor."

They all chuckled. Ruby knew her father was not that angry. She smiled at his father. Hackett looked at his daughter with mixed feelings. She was finally going to get married. He smiled unnaturally. He was reluctant to part with her.

His daughter, whom he had protected for so long, finally had another man to protect her. Hackett had been paving the way for that brat for so many years. He had ended many love rivals after another for Jasper. What a good father-in-law Hackett was.

Hackett titled himself in his heart as "Love Rival Terminator."

Trevon knew Hackett's temperament. He also smiled and sat upright with his hands folded. It was a contrast to Frank's sitting posture beside him. "Come on, give us a break. Just tell me what else you want. A house? Money? Anything."

"Alright..." Hackett only said so. He still did not answer directly.

After thinking about it for a few seconds, Hackett said in front of everyone, "I'm not that snobbish. The conditions for Ruby's marriage were for scaring people away."

Unexpectedly, Jasper faced the difficulties and worked hard according to Hackett's standards. Jasper had backbone, which Hackett admired.

Whether it was Trevon or Frank, they knew Hackett's conditions for Ruby's marriage were fake. It was just that Jasper was stubborn and had to get them done.

As expected, Jasper did not give up on becoming the wealthiest man or lowering his standard just because Hackett said so. He said, "Regardless of whether your requests for your future son-in-law are real or fake, the conditions you mentioned are all I want to give Ruby."

Jasper's upbringing came from his bones. Before he looked up, he poured a glass of water for Ruby and handed her a tissue. When he met Hackett's gaze, he replied sincerely again, "Mr. Blackwell, Mrs. Blackwell, I promised to be the wealthiest man when I marry Ruby. Even if the wedding is settled today, I will still do what needs to be done. I won't stop what I've promised."

Frank gave his nephew a thumbs up. Jasper had a backbone and pride. It was not in vain for Frank to take a beating for his nephew.

As a future mother-in-law, Sherri was touched by Jasper's words. She took a tissue to wipe the tears that were about to fall from her eyes and sniffed.

Natalie pinched her eyebrows and made a gesture to stop Sherri. "It's about time. It's time to end filming. There's no audition today. Let's talk about the wedding."

Ruby, at the side, was so touched that tears welled up in her eyes. She held Jasper's hand tightly under the table and expressed her answer, indicating that she would always be there with him.

When Hackett's lips parted slightly, Trevon said generously, "Since things have come to this, we should focus on talking about engagement gift. I'll give you a chance to rip me off."

Trevon had asked Hackett about what he wanted, but Hackett had not answered yet. Trevon preferred Hackett bring up the conditions and settle the wedding.
