The next morning, Trevon prepared enough gifts to fit into two car trunks to ensure Hackett couldn't find something to complain about.
Natalie looked at the two full trunks and felt a headache coming on. It didn't look like they were visiting their future in-laws, but it looked like they were on the run. "Olivia, do you want to take our car or your brother's car?"
"I'll take Jasper's car." Olivia had just returned last night, but when she heard that her brother was going to his girlfriend's family's house that morning, she had woken up early to tag along.
The two cars drove away from the Wilson's residence. Rachel and Caleb watched the cars drive away and sighed, realizing they were already old since their grandson was about to get married.
Originally, Caleb and Rachel had planned to go as well. However, the weather had turned cold, and Caleb's legs were hurting. He had been sitting in a wheelchair for the past few days, but it was not convenient to push a wheelchair to someone else's house.
The Bentley was driving up front, and the white Lamborghini was behind it. Olivia sat in the front passenger seat, occasionally looking at Jasper.
Jasper could feel his sister's gaze on him from time to time and knew that she had something on her mind. Jasper opened his mouth and said, "What do you want to ask me?"
"Alright, you're the one who asked. Jasper, did you like Ruby for a long time but kept it a secret?" Olivia still had many details to ask about Jasper's secret relationship.
Jasper had not answered many of Olivia's questions the previous night, and she had returned to her room reluctantly.
Jasper focused on the road ahead. He felt that if he did not answer his sister's question, in the future, she would continue to find opportunities to ask him again. It was better to answer her questions now. Jasper admitted generously, "I guess so."
Olivia immediately understood what he meant. Olivia fell back heavily against her seat and shook her head. "Jasper, you hid it well. You're too scheming. To think that Sophia and I felt that it was a pity. Didn't I ask you if you had any feelings for Ruby? Didn't you say that you didn't?"
Jasper did not answer. He did not intend to tell his sister about his previous worries. He only replied, "Just remember that your future sister-in-law is Ruby. This will not change."
There was a certainty in Jasper's tone. Olivia suddenly felt that her brother was really domineering and handsome. Olivia could not help but give him a thumbs up. "Awesome. Domineering. I'm so happy that Ruby can be my sister-in-law."
Olivia turned sideways and looked at her brother's handsome side profile. Olivia was very proud to have such an outstanding brother. She tilted her head and asked, "Jasper, what should I call her in the future?"
"Anything is fine."
Forty minutes later, the two cars arrived at the Blackwell family's villa.
The drivers' doors opened one after another. The first person to get out was Trevon. Sherri, Ruby, and Joy had already been waiting in the courtyard.
Seeing her future son-in-law head to the trunk to unload the items, Sherri quickly approached him and said enthusiastically, "You're finally here. You took your own sweet time."
Jasper thought, 'It's not that I wanted to dawdle. Dad said Hackett is hormonal and needs a few hours to calm down.'
On the surface, Jasper replied politely, "Lena, we came late because we had some matters to take care of."
Olivia greeted the elders politely.
Joy replied, "You're not late. You're right on time. The kitchen is making some pastries now. Come in quickly. Olivia, you've gotten prettier, as well."
Olivia, who was praised, smiled. She was not the main center of attention today. She was just here to accompany her brother.
Both Joy and Sherri were unusually enthusiastic. Jasper was dressed in a suit and leather shoes and had a wonderful aura about him. Joy glanced at Jasper and could not help but praise Jasper again, "You're getting more handsome. Ruby is lucky."
Jasper said humbly, "Joy, I'm the lucky one."
Hearing this, Ruby, who was standing at the side, lowered her head in embarrassment. From the corner of her eye, Ruby looked at Jasper, who seemed to have an exceptionally sweet tongue today. Jasper seemed to be even more handsome than yesterday.
After saying this, Jasper turned his gaze to Ruby. Their gazes happened to meet, and the two of them looked at each other, unable to suppress their smiles.
When Joy heard Jasper call her by her name instead of "Mrs. Joy" like he usually did, her face was full of smiles. "You're both lucky. You know all the right things to say. Come in quickly."
When Joy saw the gift boxes all over the ground, she said, "Trevon, did you move the entire shop here? Why did you buy so many things? You can't do this in the future. My house is just like your own house. Our two families don't need to be so polite with each other."
The gift boxes in the trunk were all placed on the ground, but the gift boxes in the back seat of Trevon's car had not been brought out yet. They were all gift boxes of various sizes, and there were too many to count. Joy was so shocked that she had no choice but to say something.
Sherri hugged her best friend's shoulder and smiled widely. Since her son-in-law had not run away, Sherri was elated. Sherri instructed Hackett, "Why are you standing there? Come over and help. Hurry up."
Then, Sherri put an arm around Olivia's shoulder and led her into the villa.
Hackett walked out of the villa and slowly walked to the courtyard. Hackett pretended to size up the gift boxes and reached out to flip through them. Trevon sneered when he saw this and did not stop Hackett. "If it's not enough, I'll add more," Trevon said.
Hackett looked at how Trevon was currying favor with him and felt good about it. Hackett continued to put on airs and replied indifferently, clearing his throat. "It's alright. That's all for now. If I think of something more I need, I'll let you know."
It was rare for Trevon to give in to Hackett's arrogance, but Trevon also knew it was his son's fault for falling in love with Hackett's daughter. However, Trevon was pleased that his future daughter-in-law was Ruby. Trevon had watched her grow up and knew her well. "Think about it slowly. As long as it's not too ridiculous, I'll satisfy your demands."
"Hackett." Jasper greeted.
Hackett replied indifferently without even opening his mouth, the sound coming straight from his throat.
Joy patted her son's arm. "Hackett, what nonsense are you talking about? Trevon, don't listen to him. I agree to this marriage."
Hackett was speechless. 'Can't I be a little annoyed that some kid has come to steal my daughter away? Can't I pretend to be annoyed? It's not like I'm objecting for real.' Hackett thought.
Of course, Trevon knew what Hackett was thinking. Trevon suddenly reached out his hand and grabbed Hackett's shoulder. Hackett, who was sulking and acting arrogantly, shook Trevon's hand off. "Joy, it's fine. We're joking around."
After the few of them entered, Trevon advised Hackett, who was standing beside him with an upset gaze, "Don't make it seem like I've uprooted your entire garden. Jasper will give everything to Ruby. If Jasper lets Ruby down, I'll give the Wilson Group to you."
This guarantee was a heavyweight. Hackett smiled. "I'll wait for the day Olivia and Sophia are getting married. Let's see if you can be so light-hearted, then."
Trevon smiled. "Just wait."
Hackett looked at the couple holding hands in front of him and sighed again to himself that his daughter was about to get married.
Since Trevon was coming today, Nathan did not go to the office. Nathan had held a meeting upstairs and was coming down the stairs now to the living room.
"Trevon, you're here," Nathan said.
