Uncle's Love: My Sweet Little Wife novel Chapter 32

Linda glared at the man in front of her in anger when she heard that he wanted the custody of Kara.

Although she didn't like that little invalid, she didn't want others to blame her for giving full custody of her granddaughter to an outsider. By doing so, she would bring shame on the Quains.

Ignoring what she had said, Nolan put on a faint smile and took out a cheque for 500, 000.

As Kara's grandmother, Linda had never taken good care of her. In fact, if James hadn't saved Kara, she probably would have been beaten to death by Linda.

"Madam Quain, Miss Kara's father once helped my boss out. He knows that Miss Kara is in poor health and wants to look after her to requite her father's good deed. If you give the custody of Miss Kara to my boss, it would be right and proper for her to live with my boss and no one would blame you."

"Who is your boss?"

Linda stared at the cheque with her eyes lit up and asked falsely.

"He is a friend of Mr. David. Miss Kara's uncle and aunt also know about him. My boss planned to ask me to talk to Ms. Sophia with the money, but you are Miss Kara's grandmother. We have to inform you about this."

"Please allow me to apologize for my sudden behavior and offer you a small gift."

When Linda heard he mentioned Sophia and was going to give the money to Sophia, she looked sullen.

"Kara will no longer be a Quain if I sign the agreement, right?"

"Legally speaking, you are right. But she is still your granddaughter. As I said, my boss asks you to sign the contract since he wants to take good care of Miss Kara and not to cause scandal."

Nolan had great negotiation skills. So, Linda, a short-sighted and greedy old lady, was no match for him.

"Miss Kara is in poor health. She needs to be in hospital and take all kinds of precious medicines. It costs a lot. After you sign the contract, my boss will take responsibility for Miss Kara's living expenses. If you are not satisfied with the amount of money, he will offer you more money."
