Amelia knew Victor wasn't here just to apologize seeing how he was revealing his true intentions so quickly
She furrowed her brows. "What do you want?"
"You must accept my apology and forgive me! Then, put in a good word to Mr. Everett!" Victor demanded arrogantly.
Amelia frowned. "And if I don't?"
"If you don't, not only will I reject your resignation, but you can forget about getting your salary and bonus from last month!" Victor threatened.
He knew Amelia valued money and seemed to be in financial need. Even with her connection to Gideon, she still appeared to lack money, suggesting that Gideon didn't care much for her. Hence, he wasn't worried.
"You!" Amelia trembled angrily with her fists clenched. She couldn't believe someone could be so shameless.
"Hmph! Do you think I can't do anything to you?" Victor said smugly.
Just then, a loud voice boomed from the doorway. "Victor Walter! You've got some nerve! How dare you mess around with another woman!"
The door was kicked open, and a burly woman appeared in the doorway with her hands on her hips.
"Honey, what are you doing here?" Victor shivered upon seeing her, his arrogance vanishing as he shrank back in fear.
Those familiar with Victor knew he was a henpecked husband. He could hold his position in the city because his wife had connections with those in power. His wife was known for her fierceness and was infamous on their street for her disdain for unfaithful men.
