Under the Heiress' Facade novel Chapter 645

The noise woke Xavier up. Before he could react, the lights were turned on, and Bernard grabbed him up from bed.

As soon as Xavier got used to the lights, he was baffled to see who was standing before him. "U-Uncle Bernard?"

What was Bernard doing there?

"Mr. Bernard, what are you trying to do to Mr. Xavier? Let him go!" Marriott rushed over in her pajamas, and her hair was a mess. She grabbed Bernard's sleeves. "Please don't scare Mr. Xavier. He caught a cold two days ago. He just slept after we barely fed him medicine."

"Get out! This is none of your business." He gave her a spiteful look. He hated it when someone pulled him by his clothes.

His warning sent shudders down her spine. Just like other maids, she was afraid of Bernard. But she didn't release him because she was more worried about Xavier.

Bernard let go of Xavier to withdraw his hand, and Marriott fell onto the ground on her butt due to the sudden force.

He eyed Jackson at the door, who was too scared to enter the room. "Take her out of here!"

"Yes, sir!" Jackson quickly helped Marriott up and brought her out of the room.

He didn't dare to defy Bernard's orders because he was the employer. Besides, Bernard was older than Xavier.

"Jackson, let me go! Get inside and protect Mr. Xavier! Do you hear me?" Marriott tried to wriggle free from Jackson because she was worried that Bernard might hurt Xavier

However, she was old, and men were born to be physically stronger. In the end, she was taken out of the room.

Bernard kicked the door closed and locked it.

Alarmed, Xavier hugged the sheets and hid in the closet.

Before he could close the closet, Bernard managed to catch the back of his collar. He dragged him out.

Bernard threw him onto the floor and looked at him from the top. "What did you tell Hera that day?"

Xavier played dumb, fumbling around clumsily while trying to get up. "Uncle. Hide-and-seek. I haven't found a place to hide. Get out! No peeking!"
