"Sweetie, are you still going over there tonight?"
Hera hummed in response.
Fury was written all over Bernard's handsome face. It was his birthday tomorrow, so he didn't want her to go over.
Yet, it was Catherine whom Hera cared for deeply. Thus, Bernard did not want to force Hera to stay when Catherine needed her company in a time of need.
Hera noticed Bernard's dismay and explained, "Gideon will be here tonight as he'll be fetching them back after dinner. So, I'm going to accompany Grandma again. Besides, Grandma will come to the clinic to offer consultation tomorrow."
Hearing that made Bernard's eyes light up. "Does that mean you're free tomorrow?"
"I'm meeting with Johnson tomorrow," Hera remarked.
She had made an appointment with Johnson previously because she wanted to try using hypnosis to trigger memories. But their plans were temporarily halted when Catherine was targeted by the Chime family.
The hope in Bernard's eyes faded away. "Alright. Go ahead, then. But you have to hang out with me tomorrow."
"Let me see. I remember that I'm hanging out with Samantha tomorrow night." While speaking, Hera tapped on her phone memo.
"Samantha has a live competition on a variety show. She invited me to be there to support her during the competition. We agreed on this last week, so I can't back out now. It'll probably be very late by the time I get back."
Bernard scowled, looking rather dejected. Hera raised her hand to ease his frown. "I'll accompany you the day after, okay?"
To Bernard, Hera sounded as if she were discussing a business appointment with him. He felt rather crestfallen that she had forgotten that it was his birthday tomorrow. He reluctantly hummed in response.
"Are you free tonight? Would you like to come over for dinner?" Hera inquired.
"I'm not free. I have to meet with a client at the Imperial Hotel soon." Bernard turned to enter the room.
