"I thought that perhaps the memory you wanted to remember wasn't a good one for you and Mr. Bernard," Felix voiced his assumption. "He might've feared that you might lose your feelings for him, so he made such a decision. This will only cause his condition to worsen, of course."
He added, "But of course, for your safety, I suggest you leave him for now. I fear that he might do something more dangerous than just altering your memories."
Hera's mind buzzed as a result of the onslaught of information. She didn't agree with Felix nor did she object to his suggestion.
"Thanks," she simply told him.
Seeing the drastic change of expression on her face, Felix decided not to persuade her further. "I'm staying in Jedburgh for some time. If something comes up, you can always contact me."
"Okay," said Hera, feeling grateful.
Even after returning to the clinic, Hera was still in a daze. Sensing this, Catherine couldn't help but express her concern for Hera.
"Herie, what's wrong?" she asked.
"I'm fine," said Hera, snapping out of her daze. "I won't be going to Skyview Heights tonight. Why don't you have a stroll with Wayne after dinner?"
"Okay. Do what you need to, but don't wear yourself out. Get some rest when you can," said Catherine. "I'm here for you if you need an ear to talk to. I'll always be by your side."
"Okay. I got it." Hera felt warmth course through her body at those words.
After closing the clinic and when everyone had left, only Hera and Tiramisu were left waiting for Bernard to come back.
To ensure that she wouldn't overthink things, Hera took out the file of documents Augustus gave her back then. It contained an audio tape and the confidential surgery contract Linda and Philip signed.
Hera then dug out a tape recorder and inserted the audio tape into the recorder to see if the tape could be played.
As the audio tape played, a woman's voice sounded from the recorder. She was reading aloud the contents of the contract.
The voice was the one Hera had been looking for all this time! It was the one she heard from the memory card!
Hera quickly took out the memory card and plugged it into her computer to compare the woman's voice from the audio tape and the one from the memory card.
Although the female voice from the memory card didn't speak much, Hera could make out that it was the same woman as the one reading the contract contents in the audio tape.
