"Mr. Shaft, what do you mean by this?" Hera asked.
"Sorry, Dr. Shadow. I'm just following orders," Samson replied.
Her brows slightly furrowed in displeasure.
Rhet guffawed. "See that? Astral Nova is bailing me out! I'm getting out of here! Finally!"
His smug laughter echoed against the walls.
He wished Bernard was here to see this. Previously, if it weren't for his subordinates' blunder, Bernard wouldn't have been able to get the upper hand.
With Samson here, it was true that Astral Nova was actually bailing Rhett out. Once Rhett was released, he would be able to start anew. He would take revenge on those people who had harmed his family.
"Just wait until I get out of here, Hera Youngworth. I'll send you to hell! You'd better call Bernard over right now. At least you'll have a companion when you go to hell," he demanded obnoxiously.
He wanted to show Bernard that Astral Nova was on his side. Bernard could never win him! Never!
His attitude was repulsive to Hera. "Our lives and deaths don't concern you. You're halfway through death's door. It's still a hanging question whether you'll be able to get out of here."
Although she didn't know what was going on, she knew that this wouldn't be a gift from Bernard.
"K-Keep talking tough!" Rhett simply assumed that she was afraid, hence the tough attitude. How could he not be released when Samson had personally visited the place?
Her timid side was exactly what Rhett wanted to see.
Anyone who offended him would never have a peaceful life.
