Hera smirked. "Thanks."
Half an hour later, she and Nicholas sat at the County Recorder's office. The manager warmly served them coffee before bringing over all documents related to the transfer of ownership of the courtyard house.
"Ms. Youngworth, this courtyard house is under your name," the manager said.
Nicholas was startled to learn that. "This courtyard house is hers?"
Shouldn't it belong to Bernard? Wow!
"That's right." The manager nodded.
All wealthy people had several houses. Hera already knew that, so she wasn't shocked. Instead, she was surprised to learn that she wasn't poor in the past. She even had money to buy the courtyard house.
She took the folder and flipped through the transfer of ownership records to check how much she bought the courtyard house for. Instead, she saw that the courtyard house was transferred to her name five years ago in June.
It was Bernard who transferred the courtyard house to her. Seeing the contract in black and white left Hera in a daze.
The courtyard house was given by Bernard.
Nicholas was left in an awkward position when he saw the contract. Didn't Bernard seal off all information related to Hera? Why wasn't this contract handled?
Besides, based on the date of the transfer, Hera and Bernard hadn't been together for long at that time. Yet he already gifted her a courtyard house located in Jedburgh. Wasn't that gift far too extravagant?
Nicholas suddenly understood why he could never compare to Bernard.
The manager cleared his throat, having suddenly picked up on the tension between Hera and Nicholas.
