Hera finally realized what Bernard meant when he told her that she didn't need to head back to the hotel for him. So, he had been planning to come here.
"Mr. Handsome, you're here!" Dora chirped. Her eyes lit up with delight when she saw Bernard.
Hopping off her chair, she thought of going to the living room and bringing him to the dining room to have lunch with them.
However, the cold look on his face made her stop halfway to the living room. She didn't dare take another step. He looked so stern and unapproachable.
"You guys have lunch first. I need to go out for a bit," said Hera, getting up from her seat.
After carrying Dora back to the dining table, Hera went to the living room and led Bernard out of the house.
When the two of them were outside, Bernard grabbed her hand and pushed her into the car so that she was sitting in the passenger seat. He then sat in the driver's seat beside her and started the engine.
They left the mansion. Throughout the journey, neither of them spoke. It felt cold in the car although the heater was turned on.
Hera left in a hurry just now, so she didn't bring her jacket. Wearing just a plain white blouse and trousers, she felt a little cold.
Reaching for the temperature control, she adjusted it to the max. "Where are we going?" she asked.
Silence hung in the air like a heavy blanket as Bernard continued driving without answering her question.
Sensing his silence, Hera decided not to ask him the same question twice. She simply stared out the window at the scenery, and soon, she realized where they were headed.
Half an hour later, they stopped at the entrance of the courtyard house. Looking at the familiar sight of the huge doors, she recalled the last time she and Bernard met.
In her daze, she wondered if he had come here often in the past few years. As she was preoccupied with her thoughts, the world suddenly spun around her.
Bernard had lifted her out of the car!
"What are you doing?" she yelled, hitting his back. "Let me go!"
