Under the Heiress' Facade novel Chapter 881

Douglas arrived just as Bernard walked out of the house.

Bernard said in a cold voice, "Keep an eye on her. Consider yourself sacked if she manages to run away again."

With that said, he left the courtyard house. Douglas' back stiffened immediately, and he said, "Got it."

When he could no longer hear Bernard's car, Douglas knocked on the door of the western wing.

Gingerly, he asked, "Are you in there, Hera?"

Hera, still on the bed, was wracking her brains on how to uncuff herself. If Bernard had handcuffed both her hands together, she could have broken her thumbs to pull her hands out of the handcuffs. However, he used a pair of handcuffs for each hand, so she couldn't escape.

When she heard Douglas' voice, she felt as if he were an angel who had come to her rescue. She quickly told him to come in.

When Douglas entered the room and his eyes fell on Hera, he inhaled sharply. She lay on the bed like the letter "X".

Gosh! He never knew Bernard would do something as atrocious as that!

Was Bernard not worried that he'd have to face Hera's wrath and punishment in the future?

"Take these handcuffs off," said Hera when she saw how he froze the moment he entered the room.

Douglas hurriedly went over to the bedside table and found the keys. However, Bernard's words rang in his mind, and he hesitated.

"You won't run… Scratch that. You won't leave Bernard again, right?" Douglas asked gingerly.

Fearing that Hera would misunderstand him, he added, "Don't get me wrong. Sealing off all information about you wasn't Bernard's doing. We had no choice but to do it to treat his condition."

Hera guessed it some time ago. She understood why Douglas and the others did it.
