Under the Heiress' Facade novel Chapter 913

"If I really wanted the Killian family's wealth, I would've killed you in your sleep. That way, my children would've inherited everything. Wouldn't that have been faster? I wouldn't even have to play house with you here!"

Hera spoke nastily. She assumed bringing up these points would make Bernard realize she was angry.

Instead, Bernard earnestly retorted, "That's because you're uncertain how much wealth I have. Hence, you haven't dared to make a move!"

Hera laughed in exasperation. "Of course, I've no idea how much you're worth as the grandmaster of Astral Nova. I also don't know how much it takes to hire you, Vulcan, the world's number-one hacker.

"Nor would I ever know how influential you are, seeing that you were once the captain of the special forces unit, Azure Wolf. I'm just interested in your wealth as the secret boss of XS Corporation. Does that work for you?"

"You!" Bernard was completely shocked.

How did Hera know all of his identities, especially his role as the grandmaster of Astral Nova? Bernard had always kept that identity carefully hidden, so how could she have known? He wondered who told her.

"You've done your homework by figuring out all of my identities. Yet you're telling me you don't have any ulterior motives?"

Hera took a deep breath to calm herself down. "Bernard, if you think you've been doing well living on your own for the past five years and you don't want anyone to interrupt your life, you should forget about me!

"Let's not meet again in the future. If I were to run into you in Jedburgh in the future, I'd definitely walk away. And I won't let my children inherit a single cent of the Killian family's wealth. Does that sound good to you?"

Bernard didn't know why he felt suffocated at the thought of them never meeting again. Suddenly, he found it hard to breathe.

"No matter what you say, you can never change the fact that they're biologically related to me!" Bernard sneered to hide the internal discomfort.

"Then, what do you want?" Hera asked through gritted teeth.

Bernard was slightly taken aback by the scowl on Hera's face. He assumed she would have asked him to marry her like she did before. He might even have agreed by saying yes.

He hadn't agreed previously because he didn't want to care for some other man's children. Now that he knew Dylan and Dora were his, he could take on that responsibility.
