Under the Veil I Rule novel Chapter 168

"You are as stubborn as a mule, is there really any point in dragging this out?"

Like everyone else, Dorian didn't think Finnian had any real interest in Amara. No, he figured Finnian was tormenting Amara over being cheated on. But still, this was a classic case of cutting off his nose to spite his face, totally unnecessary. Why couldn't Finnian see that?

Meanwhile, Amara was just about to hit the hay when her phone buzzed with a message from Elysia. "Ama, how was the birthday bash today? Did Finnian lose his cool?"

Amara had almost managed to push the whole ordeal out of her mind, but Elysia's message brought it all rushing back. She sighed, trying to compose a reply, when her phone rang. It was Elysia.

"Ama, I've been texting Keith but he’s not replying. What's going on with you guys?"

Amara was puzzled. Why was Elysia messaging Keith first instead of her? They weren't exactly besties. Shrugging off the thought, she replied, "Not great."

"Huh? What's the deal?" Elysia pressed on.

Amara hesitated. Should she spill the beans about tonight's fiasco? If she did, Elysia would definitely be livid and probably confront Finnian. No, she would definitely confront him. But if she kept quiet, it was only a matter of time before Elysia found out some other way.

After a moment, Amara decided, "It's a bit complicated. Can I come over and tell you in person? Are you home?"

"Yeah, I'm home."

"Alright, I'll be there soon."

Amara got dressed and headed over to Elysia's place. Once inside, they settled on the couch, and Amara grabbed Elysia’s arm, saying, "Promise me you won’t lose your temper after I tell you this. You have to stay calm, okay?"

This revelation made Amara sigh again. It was disheartening to realize that the man she’d admired for so long was just as bad, if not worse, than the others.

Now that Elysia was completely calm, she began strategizing. "If you want a divorce, you have two options. Either you appeal to his sympathy by playing nice, or you hit him with something he can't ignore, forcing him to divorce.

You have to choose one or the other."

"Yeah, that's what I was thinking too," Amara nodded in agreement.

Seeing that it was getting late, Amara uttered, "We’ll figure out the details later. I should head home. Got an early call on set tomorrow."
