Amara jumped in surprise. "What are you doing here?"
Finnian strode over, his eyes locked onto hers. "You two are not together?"
Amara went silent.
"You told me before you were with him. Was that a lie?"
Amara stood there, speechless, as Finnian pressed. Her mouth was slightly open, unsure of what to say.
Had Finnian overheard her conversation with Keith just now?
"What do you mean, Mr. Everly?" Keith interjected, stepping in front of Amara with a face full of cold determination, though a smile tugged at his lips.
"Whether Ama and I are together or not, what’s it to you? It’s not like you two are actually a real couple."
"Stop calling her Ama. She’s my wife, and it’s none of your business."
Finnian grasped Amara’s wrist, pulling her to his side, their bodies almost touching. Keith’s anger flared as he glared at Finnian’s hand on Amara’s wrist, his fist clenching, ready for a fight.
"Both of you, stop it right now!" Amara’s voice rang out, firm and commanding.
Her sudden outburst made Keith pause, though his eyes still burned frostily with the threat of violence.
Amara shook off Finnian’s hold and turned to Keith. "You should head back. We’ll talk about this later."
"No way. I don’t trust him being alone with you."
"I’ll be fine, just go. If anything happens, I’ll let you know."
