Under the Veil I Rule novel Chapter 222

"I’m not doing it," she said. "I want to keep this baby."

Keith's reaction was way beyond what she had expected. Why was the first thing he said to demand abortion? Even Elysia never pressured her into anything like this.

Sure, men and women thought differently, but this seemed like a massive gap.

Keith’s eyes were somewhat red. "What are you going to do about it then? Keep Finnian’s damn child?"

Amara frowned immediately. She really didn’t like the way that sounded.

"Why are you talking like that? This is my child. This baby won’t have anything to do with Finnian in the future."

Worried that Keith’s anger was clouding his understanding, Amara reiterated, "This child will never meet Finnian. He’ll never know it exists."

To Amara, blood ties didn’t mean much. She had an unreliable father herself, so she knew blood relations were just that—a connection by chance.

What mattered more to her was raising a child, guiding them with the right values, and building a strong emotional bond. That, to her, was what being a family meant.

So, she didn’t care if the baby was Finnian’s. It was hers, and that was enough.

"Are you really going to keep it?"

Keith’s eyes grew even more blood-red at Amara’s unwavering stance. His fists clenched tight enough that the knuckles cracked, like he was about to blow up.

"Amara, I’m telling you one more time: get rid of this child. Don’t keep Finnian’s baby. You two are divorced."

Amara was baffled. She couldn’t make sense of it, even after thinking for a long time. So, she texted Elysia, summarizing the conversation with Keith.

Then she added, [Is he out of his mind? Why such a big reaction?]

Elysia replied with a speechless emoji.

She continued to vent, [He's really crazy. I expected him to be mad, but I thought he’d go find Finnian for a fight, not tell me to get rid of the baby right away instead. What gives him the right? It’s my body, my choice. Whether I keep the baby is my business. Why does he keep insisting?]

Amara really hated when others made decisions for her. If someone other than Keith had pressured her like that, she would have lost her temper, despite usually being gentle.

[Alas, it makes sense why he reacted that way, I guess. He probably doesn’t want to see you burdened by the child. But if you have time, maybe try talking to him. No, don’t. Just let him process it on his own.]
