Under the Veil I Rule novel Chapter 232

Amara looked up, her eyes wide with disbelief.

Finnian held her hand, pressing it against his chest as he spoke slowly and deliberately, "You find it hard to believe, don’t you? Trust me, it's even harder for me to wrap my head around.

But it is what it is. There's no mistake about that. So, Amara, let's get back together."

Amara pulled her hand away, tears welling up in her eyes, her heart aching with a bittersweet pain.

Seeing her cry made Finnian panic a little. He instinctively reached out to wipe her tears, but Amara stepped back, saying, "Don't touch me."

She took two more steps back, quickly wiping away her tears with her hand. She had already divorced Finnian, and given up on him completely. Now he suddenly claimed he fell for her? Why was life playing such cruel tricks on her?

Amara shook her head. "I won't get back together with you. I can't accept your feelings. Please leave."

She didn't believe Finnian truly had feelings for her. He must have misunderstood his emotions, gotten caught up in the moment to say such things. And even if Finnian did fall in love with her, what did it matter?

First of all, their three-year marriage had left her deeply hurt. She was already disillusioned with him and didn't want to be with him anymore. Secondly, he had Liliana. Why should she get back together with him?

"Amara, give me a chance."

But Finnian seemed unwilling to let go. He took a step forward, trying to reach for her hand, wanting to say something more.

Amara jerked her hand back, insisting again, "Leave!"

Having worked through these thoughts, Amara felt a bit more composed. She dried her tears, washed her face, and went to bed.

The next morning, Amara woke up, the events of the previous night still swirling in her mind, leaving her incredulous.

Finnian had confessed to her? No, no, no! He must have misunderstood his feelings. How could he possibly have feelings for her? This thought had been lingering in Amara's mind countless times since the previous night.

Now, she repeated it once more to reinforce the idea, and then got out of bed to wash up. She had a quick breakfast in her room before heading downstairs to the shooting set.

As she reached the ground floor, she saw Finnian walking towards her. He was dressed in a dark gray suit with a black shirt underneath, no tie, looking sharp and handsome.

Seeing him made Amara's heart tightened. Instinctively, she wanted to quicken her pace and leave, but Finnian's gaze locked onto her, and he strode over with purpose.
