Amara was caught off guard and quickly glanced around, looking for an escape route. Just then, she spotted Cedric emerging from another hallway, chatting with Louis. She hurried over to them.
"Good morning, Mr. Zade, Louis," she greeted with a smile.
"Well, Amara, you're up early! After everything that happened yesterday, you should be taking it easy this morning. Why are you out and about?" Cedric chuckled as he greeted her.
Amara waved her hand dismissively. "No need, really. I'm perfectly fine and ready to work as usual."
"True, true. Thanks to Mr. Everly, of course. Oh, speak of the devil, there's Mr. Everly now!" Cedric turned to see Finnian approaching. His smile widened as he waved him over. "Good morning, Mr. Everly. Heading to the set? Why not join us?"
"Sure," Finnian replied as he nodded, giving Amara a sidelong glance as he casually walked over to join them.
Amara's smile froze on her lips. She'd hoped to avoid Finnian, but it seemed fate had other plans. Not that she could blame Cedric—Finnian was the big-time investor in their production. It would be odd not to invite him along since he had already spotted Finnian.
She silently cursed Finnian. In the past, he wouldn’t have deigned to walk with them. But today, he accepted the invitation. Was he still the old Finnian?
Once they reached the set, Amara was quick to say, "Mr. Zade, Louis, I’ll go prepare. Let's catch up later."
Cedric and the others nodded, mentioning they had work to do as well. Amara parted ways with them.
She set up her folding chair next to the camera, spreading her notebook open across her knees, and began to focus on the filming and taking notes. About thirty minutes passed when a shadow fell over her. A familiar voice spoke, "You're taking notes?"
