Chapter 54
Lorraine found the middle–aged woman familiar, or rather, she resembled someone she knew. As Lorraine observed the pair, they
also scrutinized her.
It seemed they were quite satisfied with Lorraine’s appearance.
As Hestia put it, as long as Logan was willing to marry and take a wife, she would be relieved. Her biggest fear had been that her beloved grandson might never marry or that he might bat for the
other team.
Now, she was completely reassured. Logan wasn’t avoiding marriage, and his time had finally come. He even fell in love at first sight, something Hestia had never dared imagine previously.
Hestia approached Lorraine with a kind smile and asked, “Are you Lorraine?”
“Yes, I am. And you are?” Lorraine replied.
“You may call me ‘Grandma.‘ Oh, I mean I’m Logan’s grandma. Logan told us about you two. Knowing how busy you are, Logan’s mother and I decided to come and visit,” Hestia said smoothly. She was quite the natural liar. In truth, Logan hadn’t mentioned anything about Lorraine to his family yet.
However, he knew it wouldn’t remain a secret for long. Once Jacob knew, he would surely tell the elders in the family.
Lorraine beamed. “So, you’re here to visit. Grandma, Mom, please come in. No, let’s go to my house first. The orchards are a little rustic.
As she stood beside Hestia, Joslin looked at Lorraine with eager eyes, liking her more and more with each passing moment. Jacob had said

Lorraine was quite pleasing to look at, and he wasn’t lying
Joslin continued the conversation
We’re country folks ourselves We’re comfortable anywhere and won’t mind a bit of rustic charm
Since her son was pretending to be poor, they had to follow suit. If Logan were there to hear his mother’s fibs, he’d have a good excuse for his own lies–it ran in the family.
“Yes, yes. We won’t mind,‘ echoed Hestia.
Seeing they didn’t mind, Lorraine smiled and replied, “Since you guys don’t mind the simplicity of my orchards, let’s sit and have some water first. Would you like to join us, sir?”
She assumed they had called a ride–sharing service.
The driver instinctively looked at Hestia, who said, “This is my nephew. He’s a Lyft driver. We thought it would be convenient to call him for the trip.”
