Unrivaled Dragon Lord novel Chapter 57

Maxwell was doing household chores as usual in the mansion while Harriet was reading a magazine on the couch. As Maxwell was starting to wipe the tea table, a voice came from the side at once. “So you don’t intend to show some gratitude for the favor I gave you during the auction?”

Maxwell’s hand which was wiping the table stopped and he turned his head to the side. Harriet had put down the magazine and was staring at him with an interested look. With a startled look he let out a wry smile. “A great favor is not enough to be thanked by words, therefore I chose to keep silent and repay it with my achievement.” Harriet chuckled and replied. “Yeah, nice one. With your talking skill, no wonder Gret gives in to you…I have to say you’re really bold when it comes to spending other’s money. Do you think my money is just a piece of paper? I can’t believe you dare bidding two hundred million yuan for the sake of your pride,” she said gruffly.

Maxwell gave her a flattering smile and said, “I only did it for Greta. That money was not to show how awesome I am, but to protect Greta’s dignity. I certainly could not let that young master gets his way…Greta’s reputation is high in the Ocean City and her dignity is more important than anything else. Even three or four hundred million yuan is worth it.”

“But is that money yours? Only you can be that composed when you take and spend my money without any guilt.” Harriet let out a chuckle and crossed her arms over her chest.

“You and Greta are besties. You would be willing to do it even if you’re the one who spend the money.” Maxwell spoke with interest. Harriet was slightly shocked and she then glimpsed at him with a profound look. “Moral blackmail does not work for me. Spending two hundred million yuan at a time, you’re not really frugal,” she said with her heart ached.

“Harriet, I know there must be quite much money in your bank card and two hundred million yuan is just a small case for you.” Maxwell chuckled. “How did you know?” Harriet was taken aback by his words. Although she had lent him her bank card, she had never told him the exact amount of the money in the bank card and she wondered how he knew about that.

“You must have earned large amount of money overseas, or else you won’t be willing to return to this small city. You must have earned enough and with your ability, I won’t be surprised if you’ve earned billions or even ten billions yuan,” Maxwell said blandly.

“I owe you a favor this time. Whenever you need me in the future, I’ll definitely be there, be it to climb the mountain of swords or to plunge into the sea of fire.” He patted his chest. “Oh come on, do I need you to owe me a favor?”

Harriet smiled and shook her head, still maintaining her composure; Maxwell smiled without minding her words. She would not know how many top forces from the overseas had spent their money extravagantly just to win the Dragon Lord’s favor, yet Maxwell had not cared about them a bit, and the number of people who was able to have the Dragon Lord’s promise was only miniature.

The Dragon Lord never made his promise easily, therefore the colossi from the overseas used to say that the Dragon Lord’s promise was extremely precious and valuable.

Even some small forces had treated the receipt of the Dragon Lord’s promise as the utmost honor.

If those international warlords knew that an ordinary female president had dared to reject the Dragon Lord’s offer, they would undoubtedly be so shocked that their eyes popped out and coughed blood due to rage and anxiety.

As Maxwell stood up and walked towards the huge backyard behind the mansion, his phone rang in a hurry. He took out his phone and glanced at the screen of the phone with a level gaze that grew more and more obscure. He picked up the call and asked with a soft voice that was barely audible. “What happen?”

“Boss, bad news, the Japanese has come.” A young man spoke with a serious voice at the other end of the phone.
