Elijah's body froze suddenly.
His reaction was great, and Cordelia had an answer in her heart instantly.
She suddenly regretted it. She shouldn't have asked such a ridiculous question.
She said, "Just kidding. I'm sleepy. I want to go to sleep. My mind isn't clear now, and I'm starting to talk nonsense."
Elijah sighed helplessly, "I'll take you upstairs and take a shower first."
"No need," Cordelia said.
She wrapped herself in a blanket and left as if she was not a pregnant woman.
"Slow down. No one is chasing you," Elijah said with a smile.
Cordelia didn't smile.
She was too smug just now. Seeing Elijah treated her well, she thought too much.
After all, she was unworthy.
How could a man like Elijah have feelings for someone?
As she was woolgathering, she took a shower and fell into a deep sleep.
In the middle of the night, she vaguely heard someone talking in her ears, but she was too sleepy to open her eyes.
In the darkness, Elijah was holding her in his arms, whispering in her ear.
"I was almost tricked by you.
"You don't like me, but you want me to like you. Don't you think it is too much?
"I like you very much, but I won't tell you. Otherwise, you will be complacent."
