Chapter 57 Be in a Good Mood
“Little fool!”
Elijah let go of her and got up after kissing her.
Cordelia was stunned when she saw his back was covered with
scratches.
It seemed it was scratched by her.
Elijah seemed to have noticed her gaze and looked back at her.
Cordelia evaded his gaze, pulled the quilt, and quickly covered herself.
“I didn’t know which kitten scratched me last night.” Elijah smiled.
“You’re the one who doesn’t know when to stop…” Cordelia
retorted.
“Yes, this is what you have to bear if you want a child.”
Elijah seemed in a good mood and walked briskly into the bathroom.
The scenes of last night flooded back in Cordelia’s mind, making her face blush.
Elijah finished the shower not long after and came out of the
bathroom. He came to her and put his hands on her sides.
“Don’t run around today. Take a good rest at home and wait for me to come back, huh?”
His voice was soft, and his eyes were smiling. His face seemed to be filled with pride.
Obviously, although a lot of unpleasant things happened last night, he was quite satisfied with the sex on the bed.
He had cheered up again and planned to come back to sleep with her at night!
“You should go now! I want to have a sleep.” Cordelia turned
over.
Elijah patted her buttocks lightly and then left in joy.
“Bastard! What’s wrong with him?” Cordelia yawned and soon fell into a sound sleep..
It was afternoon when she woke up again.
Nora reheated the lunch for her and put it on the dining table with a smile.
“Mrs. Hansen, Mr. Hansen called at noon to ask if you had lunch. When he heard you were still asleep, he asked me not to disturb you.”
Cordelia forced a smile and said, “Thank you, Nora.”
Cordelia looked down with a trace of confusion flashing in her
eyes.
“Mrs. Hansen, hope you won’t mind what I’m going to say,” Nora said earnestly, “Men like to save face. If you want to live a happy life, you can show a little more concern for Mr. Hansen. He must be very happy.”
“I understand,” Cordelia responded perfunctorily, not taking her words to heart.
Elijah had never really loved her, and she had given up trying to maintain this marriage.
After dinner, Cordelia turned on her phone and was immediately bombarded with messages from Imogen.
