What Separates Me and You novel Chapter 407

Quintin's eyes widened as he struggled to look toward where Lewis was sitting.

The man sat arrogantly on the chair, gazing down at him with indifference, akin to a king passing judgment on a criminal.

Lewis said, "Anyway, Mr. Quintin, I'll guarantee you receive better treatment than those guys did."

Quintin's expression changed. "Why are you so twisted?"

Lewis remained unfazed. "It seems like you know very little about me. I can be even more twisted. If you don't divorce Josephine, I'll let you have a taste."

Face pale, Quintin stared at him and couldn't utter a word.

Lewis continued, "Quintin, you're a smart man. You should know how to choose. Once a person dies, there will be nothing left."

Quintin lowered his gaze, hesitating to speak.

If he were to die, his identity as Josephine's husband would become meaningless.

He had tested Lewis's patience multiple times, and this time he was caught. If he were to challenge him again, Lewis probably wouldn't have the patience to play with him anymore.

Lewis leaned forward slightly, a smile forming at the corner of his mouth. "Quintin, have you made up your mind?"

Quintin opened his mouth, wanting to compromise, but he couldn't bring himself to say it.

He didn't want to admit defeat before Lewis. However, he caught a glimpse of the hunting dog playing with a bloody bone and couldn't help gulping.

On second thought, what could he use to fight against Lewis if he died? Would he haunt him with his soul every night?

Lewis said, "It's good to have guts, but when you go too far, you become a fool."

Completely losing his patience, he said, "It seems you made your choice."

He then stood up and prepared to leave.

Quintin hurriedly said, "Wait!"

Lewis paused his steps, turned his head slightly, and looked down at Quintin.

Eyes closed, Quintin took several deep breaths and finally said helplessly, "I'll divorce her."

Lewis raised an eyebrow.

Quintin continued weakly, "You win. I agree to the divorce."

"Seems like your feelings for Josephine are not as deep as I imagined."

Quintin didn't refute him. Feeling completely drained, he dropped to the ground, as limp as a pile of mud.

He had never accepted defeat in his life. Even in front of his father, he had never surrendered.

He never expected to be defeated by Lewis. The humiliation and resentment were about to overwhelm him completely.

Lewis ignored him and walked away. His voice rang out from not far away, "I'll be waiting for you at City Hall at nine o'clock the day after tomorrow."

Phineas also released Quintin.

However, Quintin had no intention of getting up from the ground. He lay there like a lifeless rag.

Phineas kicked him with his foot. "Quintin, are you planning to spend the night here? Do you want me to get you a bed and blanket?"

Quintin rolled his eyes and looked at Phineas.

After a while, he weakly sat up from the ground, looking completely disheveled.

"Is Lewis really that bold?"

Phineas looked at him coldly. "Didn't you experience it already? You should be grateful that you have a powerful father and elder brother. Otherwise, you would have become the dog's food long ago."

Quintin frowned. Every time someone mentioned his father and elder brother, he felt annoyed.

It was as if they were mocking him and implying that he was nothing without them.
