Nathaniel had been brooding all day, unsure whether Cecilia had indeed met up with Eric that afternoon. When he saw a call from Elliot, he was somewhat stirred, but he managed to keep his emotions in check.

After hearing the response, Nathaniel immediately asked him, “Your mom, was she still angry when she went home?” 

“So, you want to know why Mommy was upset, why she wouldn’t remarry you?” Elliot teased 

“Tell me, and I’ll buy whatever you want for you,” Nathaniel immediately said. 

Elliot let out a yawn. “I don’t desire things that can be bought with money. As the man of the house, it’s my duty to keep Mommy happy. Let me tell you a secret. You need to be treat Mommy better. She doesn’t feel secure with you, do you understand?” 

Elliot wasn’t sure if his words would make any sense to his clueless father. 

However, he had said all he could. As for what Nathaniel would do, it was entirely up to him. 

Nathaniel wanted to ask something else, but Elliot interrupted with a big yawn, stating, “I’m tired. I need to sleep now.” 

With that, he ended the call. 

Nathaniel was deep in thought over what Elliot had said. He knew he needed to treat Cecilia better, but he wasn’t sure how to win her back. 

The very next morning, Cecilia was awakened by Charlotte. 

“Boss, we’ve a problem.” 

Rubbing her eyes, Cecilia was visibly exhausted, as her sleep was clearly interrupted. “What’s happened?” she asked. 

Charlotte took out her phone and showed it to Cecilia. 

Upon seeing the news content on the phone, Cecilia was instantly wide awake. 

The trending news headlines revealed that the renowned composer, Cecilia, post–divorce, had shamelessly seduced a married man. 

The post even included an accompanying image; it was indeed a picture of Cecilia supporting Nicholas on their way to the hospital. However, from the picture itself, one couldn’t tell it was a hospital. It seemed like the image had been maliciously edited and cropped. 

The news didn’t mention that the man was Nicholas; it simply stated that he was married. 

Cecilia slightly furrowed her brows. “This photo was taken when I was helping Nicholas to the hospital. I
