Whitney looked up.
Rachel approached with an angry glare, dressed in a chic tweed outfit, heels clacking as she hurried over.
Harris sighed quietly and whispered to her, "Here comes trouble. I knew she'd be difficult."
Whitney glanced at Harris in surprise.
As Rachel drew near and saw Noel standing nearby, she froze for a moment.
The urge to slap Whitney was diminished upon seeing him, though her haughty attitude remained.
"You've already left the company. What right do you have to mess with my design? Are you deliberately trying to sabotage my project now that you know I'm in charge?"
"You're in charge of this?" Whitney was surprised.
Howard Group had numerous talented architects, many of whom had won awards.
Rachel was merely a designer's assistant, shouldn't have been in charge of a project like this. This would inevitably cause dissatisfaction among other designers.
It had to be Damian who approved it. No wonder Harris had reacted the way he did earlier.
Rachel's expression grew smug at Whitney's surprise. "Remember when you wanted to join the architecture department? Damian let me in instead. Now he's trusted me to handle such an important project independently. Are you jealous?"
"Unfortunately for you, jealousy won't get you anywhere. Talent speaks for itself, and I clearly have more than you."
Whitney thought about the issues in the blueprints and how progress had been stalled for days. Harris had just mentioned that dealing with her was difficult.
It showed that Rachel didn't care about the actual construction outcomes, she just didn't want her design to be altered.
"Yes, you certainly have talent," Whitney smiled.
Talent for making Damian lose all common sense.
Rachel misinterpreted the sarcasm, basked in her triumph. She turned to Harris with a demanding tone, "Harris, why are you still here? There are only five days left. If we don't finish on time, don't expect me to take responsibility if the client holds us accountable."
Despite the design flaws, Rachel seemed determined to pass the blame. Harris was frustrated and didn't hold back.
"Ms. Yanes, if you want us to meet the deadline, we have to make adjustments here. We need a practical design."
"There's nothing wrong with my design! My blueprints are fine. You're the one who doesn't interpret it correctly and can't communicate effectively on-site!"
Harris' face flushed with anger. He had been part of Howard Group's major projects, and now Rachel was saying he couldn't read blueprints.
